Previous Studies

1. The journal “The Correlation Between Teachers' Professionalism and

Students' Learning Achievement at Smp Negeri 2 Wabula” this study aimed to

determine the relationship between teacher professionalism and learning

achievement. This type of research is quantitative research. The population in

this study were all students of class VII SMP Negeri 2 Wabula with a total sample

of 24 students. the data used in this study using questionnaires and tests. in this

study reveals a close relationship between teacher ability and student success in

the teaching environment. At the significance level, the value of rcount is 0.784

and rtable is 0.433 which indicates that rcount is greater than rtable which

indicates a strong relationship between teacher professionalism and student

achievement at SMP Negeri 2 Wabula. This study also states that a teacher must

have 4 teacher competencies, namely pedagogical competence, social

competence, personal competence, and professional competence.

2. The second journal from Imelda Effendie , SamsulAmri, and Melda Yeni “A

Correlation Study Between Students' Perception on Teachers' Performance

in Teaching English and Their Achievement” The main objective of this study

was to determine the relationship between student perceptions about the

performance of teachers and their achievements in eleventh grade students of

SMK N 1 Kempas. The research design is a correlation study and uses a simple

total sampling technique in determining the sample. The total population is 146

students and the number of samples is 70 students. Data is collected using a

questionnaire for student perceptions and documentation for student achievement.

Measurement indicators for professional teachers are intelligence, behavior,

dressing, hospitality, and authority, body movements, facial expressions, vocal


intonation, and achievements. While the student achievement indicators are

cognitive domains, affective domains, and psychomotor domains. For correlation

values, researchers received coefficients R 0.868, which are classified as high

levels. This implies a significant and positive correlation between student

perceptions of teacher teaching performance and their achievements in eleven

grade students of SMK N 1 Kempas.

3. “The Effect of Teacher Competence Against Learning Outcomes Economic

Subjects Students of Class XI High School PGRI 109 Kota Tangerang” by

Soffi Soffiatun and, Badrianah. This study examined the effect of teacher

competencies on the learning outcomes of economic subjects of class XI SMA

PGRI 109 Tangerang City. The subject in this study were students of class XI

SMA PGRI 109 Tangerang City. The purpose of this study was to determine the

influence produced by teacher competencies on student learning outcomes in

economic subjects in class XI. The approach used in this study is a quantitative

approach with descriptive method, namely recording and analyzing data through

statistical calculations on the current problems. The data collection is done

through the deployment of the questionnaire, interview, documentation and field

observation. The results of the research obtained showed that: First the level of

teacher competency in PGRI 109 Tangerang High School in accordance with the

distribution of data obtained was at a good level. Both learning outcomes of

economic subjects class XI students of SMA PGRI 109 Tangerang City Based on

the results of the questionnaire and student value data show good results. and

finally there is the effect of teacher competencies on the learning outcomes of

economic subjects in class XI students of SMA PGRI 109


4. Sri Yulianti Harahap 2021, “The Influence of Professionalism of Islamic

Religious Education Teachers on Improving Student Learning Outcomes at

SMA Negeri 1 Padang Bolak, North Padang Lawas Regency”. The North

Padang Lawas Regency is going well. This can be seen from the indicators of the

professionalism of teachers who master the field of study materials, manage

teaching and learning programs, use media and master various learning methods

to support student learning outcomes.

5. "The Effect of Teacher Professionalism on Student Learning Outcomes at

Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Pangkajene, Sidenreng Rappang Regency,"

Hj. Munawwarah. Hj. Munawwarah conducted this quantitative study in 2012,

with the independent variable being teacher professionalism and the dependent

variable being student learning outcomes. Furthermore, this study employs the

same research methodology as H.J. Munawwarah, namely, validity and reliability

tests as well as simple regression analysis tests. The addition of the independent

variable, namely the English education teacher, as well as the addition of the

dependent variable, namely the increase in student learning outcomes,

distinguishes the two. Furthermore, in this study, the addition of normality test

methods, linearity test, coefficient of determination test, and partial test (t-test).

6. "The Influence of Students' Perceptions Regarding Teacher Professionalism

and Learning Motivation on Student Achievement at SMA Muhammadiyah

3 Surakarta Academic Year 2014/2015" conducted by Ulil Albab Damas

Wulaningrum. This study is an associative quantitative study with statistical

analysis to draw conclusions. All students at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Surakarta

were included in this study. The sample size was limited to 100 students using the

proportional random sampling technique. The data collection method employs a


questionnaire and documentation method that has been validated and reliable.

Multiple linear regression analysis, F test, t test, R2 test, and relative and effective

contribution are the data analysis techniques used.

The difference between previous research and this research is that the former is in

the form of research that focuses on boarding schools, whereas the latter focuses on

public schools. While both types of subjects are covered, this study focuses solely on

English subjects, whereas previous research has primarily focused on Islamic or

general subjects.
