Republic of Korea or commonly known as South Korea, is a country in East Asia. Seoul is a
capital city of South Korea. In the north, south korea borders with north korea, where both
have been united as a nation. In the south, borders with Yellow Sea. In the east, borders with
Japan sea and in the west borders with China.

South Korea has a famous nickname, namely ‘Ginseng Country’. This nickname derived from
the word ginseng which grows and develops well.
In government, South Korea led by president. The current president is Yoon-Suk Yeol. The term
of office for the president in Korea is one period (five years) and cannot be re-elected.

South Korea has 4 seasons namely Spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Usually, more visitors
come to korea in spring and autumn, because in these seasons the sun is shining and the
temperature is dry. South Korea has many interesting places that must be visited while visiting
there. One of them is the namsan tower. Namsan Tower located in 105 Namsangongwon-gil,
Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea. This tower is famous for its love lock. Actually, Namsan tower
or N-Seoul Tower useful for observation and communication tools.

South Korea has a traditional clothes called hanbok. In North Korea, this clothes is called
choson-ot. Hanbok literally means Korean clothing, its current usage refers more to Joseon
Dynasty style clothing, which can be worn formally or semi-formally in traditional celebrations
and festivals. In general, hanbok has bright colors, simple lines, and has no pockets. Hanbok
experienced development during 3 periods, namely the period of the Baekje, Silla, and
Goguryeo Kingdoms in Korea.

South Korea also has a traditional house called Hanok. The roof of the hanok is covered with
roof tiles, which are made by baking clay of various colors, or covered tightly with straw. Hanok
built using wood can be used as a place to live for a long time, if properly cared for. One of the
charasteristic of a hanok is its heating system, called ondol, which was created so that the
people in the house could survive the cold in winter. Ondol, which means 'warm stone', is a
very distinctive method of heating, which was used even before hanok was made.
Next slide, Traditional food in Korean.
In here, I will only explain two foods that are identic with South Korea. The first is kimchi.
Kimchi is a traditional Korean food which is fermented into pickled vegetables topped with
spicy seasonings. After being salted and washed, the vegetables are mixed with a marinade
made from krill shrimp, fish sauce, garlic, ginger and red chili powder. The most common
vegetables for kimchi are chicory and radish.

Next up, Kimbab. Kimbab or Korean rice rolls is a food consisting of rice wrapped in seaweed.
Kimbab is popular as food for picnics, hiking or other outdoor activities. Sometimes, gimbap is
equated with sushi. However, they are something different. Kimbab and sushi have differences
in terms of spices and fillings. In addition, Kimbab is often enjoyed with kimchi and danmuji,
which is pickled yellow radish. Meanwhile, sushi is usually served with soyu and wasabi to add a
spicy taste.
