EBF remains an optimal method to feed infants during the first six months.

Despite its benefits to

the young ones andr mothers, barriers have affected its practice, leading to a low continuation
rate (Buckland et al., 2020, p.76). It would be prudent to identify barriers that affect EBF and
interventions that can solve them. Studies have discovered a link between barriers to EBF and
social factors associated with mothers. Improved breastfeeding practices could save a lot
ofmuchsed annually in the UK. Different studies have documented the advantages of EBF to the
infant and mother. EBF provides more maternal benefits, preventing adverse health outcomes
such as breast cancer and obesity in mothers (Pollard, 2021, p.104). To effectively eliminate
barriers to EBF, there is a need for multi-dimensional breastfeeding practices and interventions
to tackle various aspects of EBF barriers.

EBF is known as one of the best ways of feeding the young because of its wide array of benefits.
International health organizations also recommend it for at least six months and its continuity for
at least the first year of the infant's life. Healthy People 2020 had EBF goals of increasing its
rates and ensuring that at three months, the percentage was 46.2% and at six months, 25.5%.
