Abstract
The educational system has used technology in teaching, learning, data
processing, and record keeping. Enrollment systems are used to record information about
students. A well-built one will reduce the stress on those who normally have to do all of
the work. The enrollment system is especially useful when the school needs to retrieve
important information from the student. The enrollment system allows the school to track
the standings of the students. A school's manual enrollment system can result in
inaccurate student performance evaluations, lost student records, inaccurate reports, and
slow enrollment processing. Students will be perplexed as to what they should do and
how they should do it in order to enroll. It is extremely useful for the school because it
simplifies the enrollment process.
Preface
In general, the goal of this research is to develop an enrollment system for
Morong National High School - Senior High School. The main issue is that the school
uses manual processing. The proponents want to create an Online Enrollment System for
Senior High School of Morong National High School in Sabang, Morong, Bataan. The
proposed system will benefit the School by making the enrollment process easier and
faster. The proposed system will benefit students and faculty by reducing the time and
effort required to process student enrollment.
The proposed system will also benefit the Proponents, allowing them to gain and
apply their understanding. Future Researchers will be able to use the proposed system as
a reference or guide for the Enrollment System. Administration influences decisions. The
vision and decisions of the school leadership team are supported by substantial evidence.
Online Enrollment System for Senior High School of Morong National High
School is a web-based system that you can access at any time as long as you have an
Internet connection. Online Enrollment System for Senior High School of Morong
National High School is a responsive website; users can access it from any device, such
as a smartphone, laptop, or desktop. Furthermore, this system is user friendly, allowing
you to navigate your needs without wasting time finding and searching for them.
Online Enrollment System for Senior High School of Morong National High
School will assist the Morong National High School - Senior High School in having a
faster, easier, and safer enrollment process.
CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study
Technology plays a particularly significant role in our society, particularly in
schools. Most schools employ computers to assist students in dealing with current
technologies. However, as the student population grows, many institutions are having
difficulty managing enrollment through a manual procedure. One answer to this
challenge is to switch from a manual to an online enrollment system. The Enrollment
System Design Project will give vital information in a faster, more comfortable manner
by storing student enrollee files in a computer system, reducing faculty and staff work in
storing files for each student. This information may be seen instantly without the risk of
losing a single file. The concept of an enrollment system is not a new one. The
enrollment process becomes increasingly difficult as more students enroll each year. This
program will only contribute to relieving the enrollment problem by making the
enrollment process easier to manage.
In modern world doing impossible things is now become possible. As the
generation change fast, technology innovation is also fast changing mostly computers.
Computer benefits such as the way of using certain application for office works or for
record keeping purpose. The discovery of the computer was great function of modernity
to make work easier. With the help of technology, the people’s lives become more
convenient and doing things can be done so fast. Most of the people now are using
technology for the fastest and easiest way of living. To relate all of these to the
researcher’s study, the researchers want to help a company to have and to improve the
process of enrollment, simply by proposing an Online Enrollment System that is more
effective and much better than the existing enrollment process.
The study of the proponents focuses on the construction of an online enrollment
system for academic institutions in order to provide a solution to the school's manual
enrollment system’s difficulties. This was done not only for the benefit of schools and
proponents but also for the advancement of our country’s information technology field. It
will boost efficacy in terms of speed, dependability, and correctness of the process.
Because student has been subjected to the onerous and time-consuming manual
enrollment procedure, the proponents developed the study system for public schools.
Project Context
Morong National High School - Senior High School that is located at Hilltop,
Sabang, Morong, Bataan. The Morong NHS – Senior High School founded in the year
2016. The school is providing quality education for a better future. The Morong National
High School – Senior High School has two fully air-conditioned computer lab that is
called iHub, own canteen and farm at the side of the school.
Enrollment is an exciting day for every student in every school. It is the most
expected activity after the vacation. But contrary to the expectations of the student
enrollees, it has posed problems and inconveniences because it has become tedious and
time-consuming.
The other students tend to give the task to their parents and other members of the
family to enroll them. The unsystematic procedure if school during enrollment is now a
major dilemma. All these seen problem that alarmed the proponents and decided to
resolves the enrollment problem by designing and execute a system of enrollment which
would cater to smooth and less problematic flow of enrollment in Morong NHS - Senior
High School.
The researchers decided to design and develop an Enrollment System that is fast,
accurate, reliable, and easy to use for Morong NHS - Senior High School. The proposed
enrollment system is a good step for the school. This could be a great help to the people
who are handling many tasks during the enrollment period by providing fast, easier,
smooth and less problematic access to information.
Purpose and Description of the Project
This capstone project's major goal is to create a web-based enrollment system that
is quick, reliable, safe, and simple to use. The researchers will create the suggested
capstone project, entitled “Online Enrollment System for Senior High School of Morong
National High School" for the Assistant Principal, Learning Information System
Coordinator, Teacher and Student.
The proposed project will use web-based system that enables authorized users to
speed up the enrolling process, give updated, secured, and easier access to student
records. It will replace the school's current manual enrollment procedure.
To offer students high-quality services in processing enrollment is the goal of the
automated enrollment system. By computerizing the entire function, this initiative intends
to give students a good and organized enrollment procedure. Additionally, the system has
tools for managing student and faculty’s data, encoding subject schedules, and generating
reports like grades slip and certificate of registration.
Statement of the Problem
Generally this study aims to create an Enrollment System in Morong National
High School - Senior High School. The school uses manual processing method, which is
the main problem.
Objectives of the Study
The main objective of the study is to create a web-based enrollment system that is
suited for the assistant principal, learning information system coordinator, teachers, and
students of Morong National High School, Senior High School, to have a fast and safe
enrollment process. The system will provide an efficient way of admitting students into
the school with less time and effort. It will also help the institution reduce manual errors,
like imprecise information from the students.
Specific Objective
a) To develop an admission module to register student information.
 Students encode their personal information to admit online.
b) To develop an assessment module that marks requirements.
 Marks of submitted requirements.
c) To develop a scheduling module that allows to assign, view and select
schedule information and print.
 Assigning schedule information to student also select, view, and
print the student schedule information.
d) To develop a record module that teacher can encode student grades and
compute the Final Grade automatically.
 Teacher encode grades of student.
e) To develop grading module that student view their grades.
 Student view their grades online.
f) To develop a report module that print certificate of registration and grade
 Student print certificates of registration and grades slip.
Scope and Delimitations of the Study
Scope of the project
Learning Information System Coordinator, Assistant Principal, Student and
Teacher Login Page Module
The system requires account credentials to login, including an ID number,
username, and password.
Admission Module
The Learning Information System Coordinator view the list of the student and
marks student requirements that need to pass face to face.
Assessment Module
The Learning Information System Coordinator marks the student requirements
and set status if the student enrolled, approved and pending.
Schedule Module
 The Learning Information System Coordinator assign the schedule information to
the student and print certificate of registration.
 The student view and print certificate of registration.
Grades Module
 The Learning Information System Coordinator view and print grade slip of the
student.
 The Student view and print grade slip.
Subjects Management Module
The Assistant Principal encode schedules information.
Grade Level Module
The Assistant Principal encode strand and sections.
Faculty Module
The Assistant Principal encode teacher information and assigned schedule
information of the teacher.
Student QR Technology Module
 The Learning Information System Coordinator enroll old student using QR code
by scanning or uploading QR code image file.
 The Old Student enroll its self by using QR code by scanning and uploading
image file.
Barcode Generator Module
The Learning Information System Coordinator generates barcode for incoming
grade 12 student to register online.
Strand Schedule Module
The Learning Information System Coordinator view schedule information by each
strands.
Class Module
The Learning Information System Coordinator view the master list of student by
each subjects that enrolled in that particular subjects.
Manage Users Module
The Learning Information System Coordinator view list of user and create new.
Student Info Module
The Student view personal information and status of enrollment.
Record Module
The Teacher view schedule information, list of student and encode student grades.
Limitations of the Project
The limitation of this system is only to register and enroll students. The proposed
enrollment system is limited only to Morong National High School – Senior High School
that involves the Learning Information System Coordinator, Assistant Principal, Teacher
and the Student of the said school. The Learning Information System Coordinator can
only enrolled the student. Assistant Principal encode schedule information, create teacher
account and assigned subjects. Student is for viewing grades slip and schedule
information. Teacher is for encoding grade of the student also teacher can view schedule
information.
Here are some limitations of the Online Enrollment System for Senior High
School of Morong National High School:
(1) Uploading Documents is not included in the Online Enrollment System for
Senior High school at Morong National High School.
(2) SMS Notifications is not included in the Online Enrollment System for Senior
High school at Morong National High School.
(3) Class Record is not included in the system for the Online Enrollment System
for Senior High School at Morong National High School only encoding quarterly grades.
Significance of the Study
The proponents aim to develop an Online Enrollment System for Senior High
School at Morong National High School in Sabang, Morong Bataan to upgrade the old
system which is the manual enrollment.
Learning Information System Coordinator. The proposed system will make it easier to
process enrollees. The system reduces enrollment time and minimizes errors. The system
will provide reports for retrieving records and information about the students. It can
minimize the effort and time they exert in terms of gathering the students' information.
Assistant Principal. The proposed system will lessen the work of the Assistant Principal
also it help to manage schedule information and teacher’s information.
Students. The proposed system will help to minimize the time and effort that it takes to
process a student’s enrollment. The students who will enroll in the school can easily be
registered through the use of this system to process the enrollment without waiting much
time.
Proponents. The proposed system will help the proponents gain and apply their
knowledge. It will help them improve their skills and work during the study.
Future Researchers. The proposed system will allow Future Researchers to use it as a
reference for further study in the future. This study may provide relative information,
especially for other institutions having the same processes, like the Morong National
High School and Senior High School.
Morong National High School – Senior High School. The system is one effective tool
for improving their services, and it can make the school more innovative and competitive.
The system is designed to relieve the problems that are being encountered by the
enrollees and also to have faster, easier, and more suitable storage and retrieval of
information.

proponents have acquired. It will also contain the conceptual model and the operational
definition of terms of the proposed system.

Web development
Web development refers in general to the tasks associated with developing
websites for hosting via intranet or internet. The web development process includes web
design, web content development, client-side/server-side scripting and network security
configuration, among other tasks. In a broader sense, web development encompasses all
the actions, updates, and operations required to build, maintain and manage a website to
ensure its performance, user experience, and speed are optimal. It might also, but not
necessarily, include all those strategic actions needed to ensure its proper ranking on
search engine results.
Monitoring development
Monitoring allows results, processes and experiences to be documented and used
as a basis to steer decision-making and learning processes. Monitoring is checking
progress against plans. The data acquired through monitoring is used for evaluation.
Database management System
A database management system (DBMS) is system software for creating and
managing databases. A DBMS makes it possible for end users to create, protect, read,
update and delete data in a database. The most prevalent type of data management
platform, the DBMS essentially serves as an interface between databases and users or
application programs, ensuring that data is consistently organized and remains easily
accessible.
Software Requirements
Visual Studio Code

tools a developer needs for a quick code-build-debug cycle and leaves more complex
workflows to fuller featured IDEs, such as Visual Studio IDE.]
Sublime Text
Sublime Text editor is a sophisticated text editor which is widely used among
developers. It includes wide features such as Syntax Highlight, Auto Indentation, File
Type Recognition, Sidebar, Macros, Plug-in and Packages that make it easy for working
with code base. This tutorial gives you a comprehensive coverage of concepts of Sublime
Text and makes you comfortable to use it in your software development projects.
Web Browser
A web browser is a software program that allows a user to locate, access, and
display web pages. In common usage, a web browser is usually shortened to "browser”.
Web browsers are used primarily for displaying and accessing websites on the internet, as
well as other content created using languages such as Hypertext Markup Language
(HTML) and Extensible Markup Language (XML). Browsers translate web pages and
websites delivered using Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) into human-readable
content. They also have the ability to display other protocols and prefixes, such as secure
HTTP (HTTPS), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), email handling (mailto:), and files (file:).
In addition, most browsers also support external plug-ins required to display active
content, such as in-page video, audio and game content.
XAMPP
XAMPP is an abbreviation where X stands for Cross-Platform, A stands for
Apache, M stands for MYSQL, and the Ps stand for PHP and Perl, respectively. It is an
open-source package of web solutions that includes Apache distribution for many servers
and command-line executables along with modules such as Apache server, MariaDB,
PHP, and Perl.
XAMPP Server
XAMPP helps a local host or server to test its website and clients via computers
and laptops before releasing it to the main server. It is a platform that furnishes a suitable
environment to test and verify the working of projects based on Apache, Perl, MySQL
database, and PHP through the system of the host itself. Among these technologies, Perl
is a programming language used for web development, PHP is a backend scripting
language, and MariaDB is the most vividly used database developed by MySQL. The
detailed description of these components is given below.
XAMPP MySQL
It is used for testing the projects and modifications offline before launching it on
the global web. One such very important functionality provided by XAMPP is the
creation of the MySQL database.
PHP
PHP (recursive acronym for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor) is a widely-used open
source general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for web development
and can be embedded into HTML.
JavaScript
JavaScript is a scripting language used to create and control dynamic website
content, i.e. anything that moves, refreshes, or otherwise changes on your screen without
requiring you to manually reload a web page. Features like: animated graphics, photo
slideshows, autocomplete text suggestions, and interactive forms.
HTML
HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language. It is a standard markup language
for web page creation. It allows the creation and structure of sections, paragraphs, and
links using HTML elements (the building blocks of a web page) such as tags and
attributes.
CSS
Cascading Style Sheets, fondly referred to as CSS, is a simple design language
intended to simplify the process of making web pages presentable. CSS handles the look
and feel part of a web page. Using CSS, you can control the color of the text, the style of
fonts, the spacing between paragraphs, how columns are sized and laid out, what
background images or colors are used, layout designs, variations in display for different
devices and screen sizes as well as a variety of other effects. CSS is easy to learn and
understand but it provides powerful control over the presentation of an HTML document.
Most commonly, CSS is combined with the markup languages HTML or XHTML.
Bootstrap
Bootstrap is a free and open-source web development framework. It’s designed to
ease the web development process of responsive, mobile-first websites by providing a
collection of syntax for template designs. In other words, Bootstrap helps web developers
build websites faster as they don’t need to worry about basic commands and functions. It
consists of HTML, CSS, and JS-based scripts for various web design-related functions
and components.
Hardware Requirements
Computer System Laptop or Desktop
“A computer system is a set of integrated devices that inputting, Processing and
outputing the storing data and information is known as “Computer system”. Basically, a
computer system is a combination of hardware and software devices that help computers
to receive data or information by communicating with each other. It is a set of integrated
devices that accept data (input), Then process it and finally give us a result (output) This
is known as the”Computer System”. The computer system work with the help of the main
four basic work ‘INPUT’, ‘OUTPUT’, ‘STORAGE’, and ‘PROCESSING’. These four
words define the meaning of Computer systems. It includes a CPU, monitor, keyboard,
mouse, etc, and many other components, etc.
SmartPhones
The term smartphone refers to a handheld electronic device that provides a
connection to a cellular network. Smartphones were introduced to the world in 1994 by
IBM but have since expanded to include companies like Apple and Samsung. Although
they were originally meant to allow individuals to communicate via phone and email,
smartphones now allow people to access the internet, play games, and send text messages
in addition to making phone calls and sending emails.
Router
A router is a device that connects two or more packet-switched networks or
subnetworks. It serves two primary functions: managing traffic between these networks
by forwarding data packets to their intended IP addresses, and allowing multiple devices
to use the same Internet connection. There are several types of routers, but most routers
pass data between LANs (local area networks) and WANs (wide area networks). A LAN
is a group of connected devices restricted to a specific geographic area. A LAN usually
requires a single router. A WAN, by contrast, is a large network spread out over a vast
geographic area. Large organizations and companies that operate in multiple locations
across the country, for instance, will need separate LANs for each location, which then
connect to the other LANs to form a WAN. Because a WAN is distributed over a large
area, it often necessitates multiple routers and switches*. *A network switch forwards
data packets between groups of devices in the same network, whereas a router forwards
data between different networks.
Local Literature
Importance of computer application is increasing day by day. In the latest decades
of the Millennium winning organization are those which are willing to integrate business
strategy and computer information technology in plying their respective trades. The use
of computer information technology results for them to be able to develop products fast
and make decisions fast, ability to have fluid organization structures, able to cope with
the demanding work force and external environment by the rapid development of
innovative approaches and lastly using information system confirms the company’s
mission vision. Schools use information systems in the way of implementing an
enrolment system. This results for them to attract enrollees and earn an income. Enrollees
are attracted because the use of the said system makes the transactions faster and easier.
(Aquino, 2005). “Lack of enrolment system in schools can lead to chaos and troubles”.
Students will be confused on what they should do to be able to enroll, that is why such
systems is extremely useful in the way that it gives an ease on working on enrolment
processes. (Ace Adrian, 2011) Many countries nowadays, especially the developing
nations are challenged by the rapid technological changes. This has radically changed the
living and working styles of the entire society. This transformation has been driven partly
by rapid technological innovation. While in the 20th century saw the rise of the industrial
revolution with steam- powered machines intensifying and expanding human productive
power, the 21th century was characterized by the birth of machine-powered flight and the
emergence of broadcasting and computer technologies the extend the reach of human
creativity even more and made possible new ways by which humans could live and work
together (Tinio, 2002).
Computer assist careful intelligent planning, organizing, actuating and
controlling. This maybe observed from the past that they monitor production activities,
solve scientific problem and help arrive in tentative answer to a multitude of involve
conditions (Dioso, 2011)
Technology innovation had influenced man's work from data processing, business
transaction, research, planning, monitoring and even in medical operation on human
anatomy are now entrusted to computer technology. Web applications are popular due to
ubiquity of its applications. The ability to update and maintain web applications without
distributing and installing software on potentially thousands of client computers are key
reasons for its popularity. A significant advantage of building web applications to support
a standard browser feature is the ability to perform as specified, regardless of the
operating system installed on a given client (Bacala & Fleanno, 2009).
Local Studies
An enrollment system helps and provides efficient and reliable services to the
students, enrolment personnel and administration. Moreover, this system improved the
process of enrolment in terms of searching, retrieving and subject schedules. (Lopez,
2005) Many problems and difficulties were identified in the existing system of Dagupan
City National High School (DCNHS). These major concerns are affecting the efficient
enrolment system of students. Security of the student’s records were found to be at high
risk. The current system may fail to protect some important documents. It has also
untimely and inefficient report generation. A computerized system for DCNHS shall
result to a significant increase in the number of enrollees. (Cayabyab, 2007. In
educational institutions like Harvest School in Dagupan City, Composed of elementary
and high school level.
The school puts premium to its registration. The enrollment process is the initial
stage in gathering bon fide and accurate student information necessary to establish
student permanent records. A registration and billing system is needed by the institution
to address the stated situation. The study has been made to help Harvent School gather
fast and deliver accurate information (Calabozo&Fernandez, 2006).Based on the
researcher, a web-based enrolment system for Ven'tas ParochialSchool (VPS) in Manila
was developed to help its students enroll in a more efficient way without the hassles of
waiting long hours in filling out forms, which sometimes become redundant, or to stand
in line and pay at the cashier. It is with the Web-based Enrollment System for VPS that
this new style of enrolment may be achieved. This new type of system offers its students
new options for enrolling at VPS. By logging on to VPSwebsite, one can register and
enroll subjects for a school year. With these, all the students are required to fill out
certain forms that do not take more than a few minutes to accomplish. The system stores
its records in the school database for future references. Confirmation of the transaction
made by the students need to be verified, the payment of tuition fees must be made in the
school's registrar. The students may also browse the web site of VPS and he can check
his current account. He can also refer to the list of the school current tuition fee rates rates
(Vascularize, 2008).
Currently emerging on markets for they are offering transaction convenience and
service efficiency using Internet. This system becomes a powerful tool in dealing with
information management regarding enrollment transactions. (Holmes, 2006) Continuing
innovation in technologies can lead to organizational changes that range from
improvement of day-to-day operation and for easy access it provides for the end users.
Many schools today have adapted this innovation in offering of their services. (Forman,
2007).
Foreign Studies
Harvard University Harvard College students register for the term using an
electronic registration tool. The electronic tool is easy to use and should take only a few
minutes to complete. During the registration process, students need to verify their name
and their physical return to campus. Additionally, they are provided with informational
documents such as Harvard College's Alcohol and Drug Policy, Substance Abuse Laws,
and Voter Registration Forms. Students are also required to review and update their
directory information. Students are given the option to register for Message Me, Harvard
University’s emergency notification system. Students will be able to access the
Registration tool by selecting the "Campus Resources" tab of the my.harvard.edu portal.

Conceptual Model of the Study
Creswell (1994) stated that a conceptual framework can guide research by providing a
visual representation of theoretical constructs (and variables) of interest. Designing a
conceptual model begins with conducting a thorough review of the literature. Search
peer-reviewed journal articles, books/monographs, conference papers, and other relevant
references. Next, organize the literature around the topic. Begin to develop research
questions or objectives based on theory. “Theories present a systematic view of
phenomena by specifying relations among variables using a set of interrelated
constructs/variables, definitions and propositions”.

Figure 1 shows the conceptual model of the study. It consists of four phases
starting from the input, process, output and finally the evaluation. The input phase is
made up of knowledge, software and hardware requirements. For the knowledge
requirement of the proposed system, it requires the knowledge web development,
database management system, monitoring system. The knowledge requirements will help
the proponents to be familiar with the proposed system. It would greatly benefit the
proponents to have prior knowledge and ideas relevant to their objectives for the
development of the proposed system. In addition, the software requirements mentioned
from Figure 1 are PHP, JavaScript, Python ,XAMPP MySQL, XAMPP Apache server,
web browsers, Bootstrap and while the hardware requirements are a computer system
laptop or Desktop, smartphones, modem, and router for the hardware requirements. The
process phase from the conceptual model from figure 1 states that the proponents will use
the Agile Model as the methodology in the development of the proposed system. The
procedures required to complete this model is to Plan, Design, Development, Testing,

Assistant Principal
An assistant principal, also known as a vice principal, is an education
administrator responsible for facilitating the day-to-day requirements of their school.
They need to ensure the safety of students, as well as fulfillment of federal and state
student and teacher performance guidelines. This leadership position includes interactions
with students, teachers, other administrators, board members, and parents.
Senior High School
Senior High School is two years of specialized upper secondary education;
students may choose a specialization based on aptitude, interests, and school capacity.
The choice of career track will define the content of the subjects a student will take in
Grades 11 and 12. SHS subjects fall under either the Core Curriculum or specific Tracks.
Enrollment System
Enrollment systems are used in recording a student’s information. A well-built
one will reduce the load on the people that normally have to-do all the work. Enrollment
system is useful especially when the school retrieves the important information from the
student.
Online Enrollment System
Online enrollment includes any system designed to collect information on
students before they have enrolled in a facility or school. These systems work by
allowing administrators to send out forms to parents via email or a website portal instead
of having to rely on mailing forms or having families stop by to pick them up.
Web Development
Web development refers to building, creating, and maintaining websites. It
includes aspects such as web design, web publishing, web programming, and database
management. While the terms "web developer" and "web designer" are often used
synonymously, they do not mean the same thing.
Web Programming
Web programming can be briefly categorized into client and server coding. The
client side needs programming related to accessing data from users and providing
information. It also needs to ensure there are enough plug ins to enrich user experience in
a graphic user interface, including security measures.

HTML, or Hypertext Markup Language, allows web users to create and structure
sections, paragraphs, and links using elements, tags, and attributes. However, it’s worth
noting that HTML is not considered a programming language as it can’t create dynamic

Cascading Style Sheets, fondly referred to as CSS, is a simple design language
intended to simplify the process of making web pages presentable. CSS handles the look
and feel part of a web page. Using CSS, you can control the color of the text, the style of

Server
A server is a computer program or device that provides a service to another
computer program and its user, also known as the client. In a data center, the physical
computer that a server program runs on is also frequently referred to as a server. That
machine might be a dedicated server or it might be used for other purposes.
Database
A database is a data structure that stores organized information. Most databases
contain multiple tables, which may each include several different fields. For example, a
company database may include tables for products, employees, and financial records.
Each of these tables would have different fields that are relevant to the information stored
in the table.
SQL
SQL (pronounced “ess-que-el”) stands for Structured Query Language. SQL is
used to communicate with a database. According to ANSI (American National Standards
Institute), it is the standard language for relational database management systems. SQL
statements are used to perform tasks such as update data on a database, or retrieve data
from a database. Some common relational database management systems that use SQL
are: Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server, Access, Ingres, etc.
Browser
A browser is a software program to present and explore content on the World
Wide Web. These pieces of content, including pictures, videos, and web pages, are
connected using hyperlinks and classified with URIs (Uniform Resource Identifiers).
Text Editor
A text editor is program that allows you to open, view, and edit plain text files.
Unlike word processors, text editors do not add formatting to text, instead focusing on
editing functions for plain text.
Visual Studio Code
Visual Studio Code is a code editor in layman’s terms. Visual Studio Code is “a
free-editor that helps the programmer write code, helps in debugging and corrects the
code using the intelli-sense method”. In normal terms, it facilitates users to write the code
in an easy manner. Many people say that it is half of an IDE and an editor, but the
decision is up to to the coders. Any program/software that we see or use works on the
code that runs in the background. Traditionally coding was used to do in the traditional
editors or even in the basic editors like notepad! These editors used to provide basic
support to the coders.

XAMPP is an open-source software developed by Apache Friends. XAMPP
software package contains Apache distributions for Apache server, MariaDB, PHP, and

MYSQL
MySQL is an open-source relational database management system (RDBMS). Its
name is a combination of "My", the name of co-founder Michael Widenius's daughter,
and "SQL", the abbreviation for Structured Query Language. A relational database
organizes data into one or more data tables in which data may be related to each other;
these relations help structure the data.
Computer
A computer is a machine or device that performs processes, calculations and
operations based on instructions provided by a software or hardware program. It is
designed to execute applications and provides a variety of solutions by combining
integrated hardware and software components.
Router
A router is hardware device designed to receive, analyze and move incoming
packets to another network. It may also be used to convert the packets to another network
interface, drop them, and perform other actions relating to a network. The picture shows

Smart Phone
A smartphone is a mobile phone with highly advanced features. A typical
smartphone has a high-resolution touch screen display, Wi-Fi connectivity, Web

Chapter 3: Technical Background
Technicality of the Project
The proponents of the project collected all relevant research on the project and
considered which technology to use. The Online Enrollment System for Senior High
School of Morong National High School is an enrollment process where the students can
enroll online fast and easier. The project will be an Information Technology (IT) related
study so there will be terms or terminologies that only Information Technology (IT)
students and persons on the Information Technology (IT) field can understand. These are
some of the technical terms that are being used by the proponents in the project: Visual
Studio code, Sublime, XAMPP, XAMPP Apache Server, XAMPP MySQL, PHP,
JavaScript, HTML, CSS and Bootstrap. The terminologies stated above is also used by
the proponents of this project.
Details of the Technology
The proponents choose Visual Studio Code as the main source code editor of the
project. Sometimes the Sublime is used when the laptop or personal computer is lack of
memory because it is a lightest application to use as source code editor. HTML is the
language for describing the structure of web pages it gives authors the means to: Publish
online documents with headings, text, tables, lists, photos, etc. Retrieve online
information via hypertext links, at the click of a button. CSS it is the presentation of web
pages, including colors, layout, and fonts. It allows one to adapt the presentation to
different types of devices, such as large screens, small screens, or printers. CSS is
independent of HTML and can be used with any XML-based markup language.
The Bootstrap is a free and open source front end development framework for the
creation of websites and web apps. The Bootstrap framework is built on HTML, CSS,
and JavaScript (JS) to facilitate the development of responsive, mobile-first sites and
apps. JavaScript it is used by the developer or the programmer to create dynamic and
interactive web content like applications and browsers. JavaScript is so popular that it's
the most used programming language in the world. PHP it is an open-source server-side
scripting language that many developers use for web development. It is also a general-
purpose language that you can use to make lots of projects, including Graphical User
Interfaces (GUIs). XAMPP is a free and open-source cross-platform web server. XAMPP
is simply a local host or server that is used to test clients or websites before publishing
them to a remote web server. The XAMPP server software on a local computer provides
an appropriate environment for testing MYSQL, PHP, Apache, and Perl projects.
XAMPP Apache Server Apache Xampp is an open source tool used for running PHP or
PERL Web applications locally using a Web server. It is available for all major operating
systems and is popular with Windows users to locally build and test their Web apps.
XAMPP MySQL it is another open source package that is widely used for PHP
development. XAMPP contains MariaDB, PHP, and Perl; it provides a graphical
interface for SQL (phpMyAdmin), making it easy to maintain data in a relational
database. The proponents use Windows 10 because it is currently and most popular
operating system. The proponents recommended Google Chrome browser to get the best
result of the project when it run or test. The project can viewed by using smartphone and
computer or laptop.

The proposed system log-in and log-out feature will require allowed users to input

it view the student grades encoded by teacher and print. In subject management module,
encoding of subjects. Grade level module, encoded of strand and sections. In faculty
module, assigning subjects of the teachers and view the list of subjects. Student Via QR
Code module, it works only in grade 12 student and it has a feature of enrolling the old
student. Strand schedule module, it work by viewing only of subjects of different strands
and sections. Class module, it works by viewing only the subjects and who is enrolled in
particular subjects. Manage user module, it add faculty account. In students part the
current subjects module it work by viewing the subjects and grades also it has feature of
print. Student info module, it works by viewing the encoded information and view the
status if you are already enrolled or pending. Qr scanner registration, it works only in old
student to be enrolled. Schedule module, it works only by viewing schedule information.
In teacher parts the Record module, it works by viewing of subjects assign to the teacher
and also it has feature of encoding of grade of the student. The Online Enrollment System

Chapter 4
Methodology
This chapter will include the methodologies for this study. It will include the
project design, data flow diagram and the database design for the proposed system, Gantt
chart, operation, and testing procedures. This chapter will also cover the steps the
proponents will take for the evaluation process of the proposed system the Morong
Senior High school Enrollment system.
Project design
The proposed Online Morong Senior High School Enrollment System in Sabang
Morong Bataan. The proposed system has sign in it allow the students to log in using id
number in school and a password in order to access your account and view your profile
and subjects with grades. A computergenerated process is the Online Enrollment System.
This can reduce workload while also providing the school with accurate information. As
a result, not only will it benefit the student, but also the administration as a whole.

representation of the flow of data or information. It is a framework or pattern of the data
systems. It includes storing data, data input, data output. It is describing as the process of
taking the data as input, storing the data, giving the data as output. It describes the path of

Context Flow Diagram
Context Flow Diagram According to MSc-IT Study Material (2011) the context
diagram is used to establish the context and boundaries of the system to be modelled:
which things are inside and outside of the system being modelled, and what is the
relationship of the system with these external entities. A context diagram, sometimes
called a level 0 data-flow diagram, is drawn in order to define and clarify the boundaries
of the software system. It identifies the flows of information between the system and
external entities. The entire software system is shown as a single process.

 The Assistant principal entities are capable of encoding schedule information and

system coordinator. The fourth process is scheduling, which is for selecting and assigning
subjects to students. The fifth process is grading, it is for teacher, assistant principal, and
student; the teacher is responsible for encoding the grade of the student; the assistant
principal is responsible for encoding schedule information; and student is responsible for
viewing only the grade. The sixth process is reports; it is for the Learning Information
System Coordinator and student. The Learning Information System Coordinator prints
the certificate of registration, and the student prints the certificate of registration and
grade slip.

4.4.3 Program Specification
The Online Enrollment System for Senior High School of Morong National High
School will help the Morong National High School – Senior High School to have a fast,
easier and safe enrollment process.
The student will need to provide their user ID and password in order to access the
COR, Grades, Student Info, Student QR Technology, and other areas of the proposed
system's Log-in/Log-out Services feature.
The Assistant Principal have access to the Assesment Module,
Subjects_Management Module, Subject Management Module, Grade Level Module,
Class Module, Faculty Module, Grades Module and Schedule Module. In Assessment
assistant principal can only view the list of student and subject information enrolled. In
Strand Schedule can view only the list of subject by strand. In Grade Level Module the
assistant principal can encode the list of strand. In Faculty Module the assistant principal
add new user the account teacher. In Grades Module it only view the student grades by
assistant principal. In Schedule Module the assistant principal can only view the schedule
information of the student.
The Learning Information System Coordinator have access to Admission,
Assessment and Schedule Module. The Admission Module view the list of student and
mark student requirements. Assessment Module view the list of student and set approved
if the student requirements is complete after that the LIS can set the strand of the student.
In Schedule Module LIS assign the schedule information for the student.
The Teacher have access to Record, for the teacher to encode quarterly student
grades.
4.4.4 Programming Environment
Front End
The front end of a website is everything the user either sees or interacts with when
they visit the website. It is responsible for the total look and feel of an online experience.
In this study, the proponents used PHP language for scripting, white HTML,
Bootstrap and JQuery for user interface and CSS for the design.
Back End
The backend is the server-side of the website. It stores and arranges data, and also
makes sure everything on the client-side of the website works fine. It is the part of the
website that you cannot see and interact with. It is the portion of software that does not
come in direct contact with the users. The parts and characteristics developed by backend
designers are indirectly accessed by users through a front-end application. Activities, like
writing APIs, creating libraries, and working with system components without user
interfaces or even systems of scientific programming, are also included in the backend. In
this study, the proponents used PHP for the server scripting language and MySQL,
XAMPP for the database.
Project development
Task management guide the Project Development is the systematic use of
resources, knowledge and practices to design and implement a given project and meet its
goals and objectives under specific requirements. It is also defined as the process of
transforming available project inputs into desired outputs by consuming available
resources. The term is widely used in IT and software projects.

Agile Methodology
Atatus.com. (2021, June 1) explained that the agile methodology is a practice that
encourages continuous development and testing throughout the software development
lifecycle of a project. Unlike the Waterfall methodology, the agile methodology allows
for parallel development and testing.
Agile methodologies attempt to produce the proper product through small cross-
functional self-organizing teams that produce small pieces of functionality on a regular
basis, allowing for frequent customer input and course correction as needed. In doing so,
Agile tries to address the issues that traditional "waterfall" methodologies of delivering
huge products over extended periods of time encounter, such as client requirements
changing frequently and resulting in the delivery of incorrect products.
6 Phases / Steps in Agile Methodology
Atatus.com. (2021, June 1) explained that the agile development is not that tough
when broken down to its core concepts. While the number of meetings involved may
appear unnecessary, it saves a lot of time by optimizing development tasks and avoiding
the errors that can occur during the planning stages.
Phase 1: Requirements
Atatus.com. (2021, June 1) explained that before a Product Owner can begin
creating a project, they must first generate the initial documentation, which includes a
description of the project's needs.
In this phase, the proponents gathered requirements and information in regards
with the proposed system. The proponents brainstormed all together in order to maximize
the ideals and assign roles and responsibilities for each member. The proponents will take
permission to the establishment or to the school to use their name for the proposed
system in that case the proponent send a letter of intent to principal of the school and
once it is approved the proponents will start doing the proposed system. At the end of this
phase, the proponents drafted the first version of the documentation and identified the
software and hardware requirements for the proposed system.
Phase 2: Design
Atatus.com. (2021, June 1) explained that in software development, there are two
approaches to design: one is visual design, and the other is the app's architectural
structure.
The workflow designation occurs within this phase. Based on the data flow
diagram with the entity relationship model and the data dictionary, the proponents created
the project design. The proponents create a design for the proposed system on how it
looks when it’s done.
Phase 3. Development and Coding
Atatus.com. (2021, June 1) explained that within the software development
process, the development phase includes producing code and translating design
documentation into actual software. This is the most time-consuming stage of the SDLC
because it forms the foundation of the entire process. There aren't many differences
between iterations in this case.
In this phase, the proponents will execute the planned tasks and perform the actual
coding for the proposed system. The proponents will turn the proposed system into
working and functional system. Also, the identified software and hardware requirements
will be utilized to start the development of the proposed system.
Phase 4: Integration and Testing
Atatus.com. (2021, June 1) explained that during this stage, the developers ensure
that the software is bug-free and compatible with everything else they've built previously.
The Quality Assurance team runs a series of tests to check that the code is clean and that
the solution's business goals are satisfied. Testing grows more comprehensive as this
SDLC stage progresses, and includes not only functional testing but also systems
integration, interoperability, and user acceptance testing, among other things.
The proponents are responsible for minimizing the system errors. The proponents
conduct multiple tests for the proposed system in this phase in order to ensure the several
factors such as the usability, stability and the elimination of bugs present in the system.
Phase 5. Implementation and Deployment
Atatus.com. (2021, June 1) explained that the program is installed on the servers
and made available to customers, either as a demonstration or for actual use. Iterations
after that update the existing software, adding new features and fixing issues.
The proponents will implement and deploy the proposed system to Morong
National High School Senior High School and explain and demonstrate on how the
program or the proposed system is working.
Phase 6: Review
Atatus.com. (2021, June 1) explained that the Product Owner gathers the
Development Team once more after all previous development phases have been
completed to discuss the progress achieved toward meeting the requirements. The team
presents their ideas for correcting the issues that developed during the previous phases,
and the Product Owner considers their suggestions. The Agile software development life
cycle phases then begin over, either with a new iteration or by progressing to the next
stage and scaling Agile.
In this phase, the proponents will gather data from the end users in order to
determine the possible missed bugs, errors and to identify the next iteration goals.
Furthermore, the proponents may utilize the gathered data as references for what the user
expectations.
Operation and Testing Procedure
In this part the system will test and discuss the step by step operation of the
proposed system by the proponents.
Operation Procedure
The student will see the sign-up form on the left side corner of the enrollment that
contains of Sign-up and Password field at the lower part of Password Field had a button
that button is a login button. Student after login to the account will go to Student details
page that contain of Home, List of Subject, Student Information and Logout button. The
List of subject buttons that include of student enrolled information that have student
enrolled information while one the student info button is contain of their personal
information from their recent requirement. The logout button for log outing the student
account.
The Admin and Teacher will see the login in form at the middle of page screen
contain of username and password field with login button below. In the home page of
account consist of label title above of screen and logout button the right corner, in the
lower part of it will contain of student list button, Available subject button, Grade level
button, Faculty button, Department button, Rooms button, class button and manage user
button. The student list button and class button a manage user contain of list box and
search bar below the table will contain of student info at lower of It will have a button
and next button for pages. The available subject button consists of list box and, search bar
field, table and number button at lower right side and below had add new button and
delete selected button. The grade level button, Department button, room inside contains
check box and description and table below there is a two-button new button and selected
button. The faculty button contains of list box, checkbox, table, and search field, below
with two button the new button and delete selected button.
Testing Procedure
The proponents will use Unit Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing and
Performance Testing as the testing operations for the proposed system.
Unit Testing
According to Hamilton, T. (2022) unit testing is a type of software testing where
individual units or components of a software are tested. The purpose is to validate that
each unit of the software code performs as expected. Unit Testing is done during the
development (coding phase) of an application by the developers. Unit Tests isolate a
section of code and verify its correctness. A unit may be an individual function, method,
procedure, module, or object.
Unit testing will help the proponents to identify the problem of the proposed
system, it help to fix bugs early in the development cycle and save costs, it helps the
proponents to understand the testing code base and enables them to make changes
quickly and lastly unit tests help with code re-use. Migrate both your code and your tests
to your new project. Tweak the code until the tests run again.
Integration Testing
According to Shah, H. (2022) software is composed of separate components or
modules, they need second-level testing to test the synchronicity and compatibility of
components with each other. This testing is called integration testing of application
modules. You can do it primarily by checking the connectivity and communication issues
amongst different software modules.
Integration testing will help the proponents to ensure the connectivity between
individual modules by examining the logic implemented and rendering values as per the
requirements of the test plan, to ensure smooth integration between modules and third-
party tools, to fix exception handling defects.
System Testing
According to Hamilton, T. (2022) system testing is a level of testing that
validates the complete and fully integrated software product. The purpose of a system test
is to evaluate the end-to-end system specifications. Usually, the software is only one
element of a larger computer-based system. Ultimately, the software is interfaced with
other software/hardware systems. System Testing is actually a series of different tests
whose sole purpose is to exercise the full computer-based system.
System Testing will help the proponents to test the fully integrated applications
including external peripherals in order to check how components interact with one
another and with the system as a whole, verify thorough testing of every input in the
application to check for desired outputs and lastly testing of the user’s experience with
the application.
Performance Testing
STACKIFYAPRIL. (2021) explained that the performance testing is a form of
software testing that focuses on how a system running the system performs under a
particular load. This is not about finding software bugs or defects. Different performance
testing types measures according to benchmarks and standards. Performance testing gives
developers the diagnostic information they need to eliminate bottlenecks.
Performance testing will help the proponents to determine whether the application
satisfies performance requirements, to locate computing bottlenecks within an
application, to establish whether the performance levels claimed by a software vendor are
indeed true, to compare two or more systems and identify the one that performs best and
lastly to measure stability under peak traffic events.
CHAPTER 5: CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
CONCLUSIONS
This study is for Morong National High School – Senior High School in which
the researchers have the objective of improving and developing the quality of service and
changing the slow progress of the said school due to their manual process. This study
focuses on making online enrollment system for the school. The use of computer and
information technology to the school enabled both the students and enrollment personnel-
in-charge to easily process the enrollment at a lesser time.
RECOMMENDATIONS
The researchers of this study would like to recommend the system to the Morong
National High School – Senior High School to create an efficient, fast and reliable online
enrollment system. By using the proposed system, there would be less error of work and
reduced processing time. It will benefit not only the student but the administration as a
whole. We also highly recommend this system to the computer programmers to have
ideas and enhanced the interface by adding features. Lastly, the proponents would like to
recommend this study to the future researchers especially for the incoming BSIT students
who will take the Methodology of Research, Capstone Project & Research 1, and
Capstone Project & Research 2 to help them reach their goals to make this program.
Upon the completion of the project, the use of ONLINE ENROLLMENT SYSTEM FOR
MORONG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL – SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL is recommended.
It would help future researchers to observe and test the developed project and make an
improvement as the will of modifying it for their further works. Proponents
recommended to add new features like:
(1) Payment Transactions
(2) Approving Document by the Principal
(3) Uploading Requirements of the Student through Admission Online
(4) Send Automatically the Auto Generated QR Code if the Student Already Enrolled
