Goodmorning class! How are you today? Good morning Ma'am! We're good
maam.

Is everything fine? Yes, ma'am!

Alright before starting our lesson, i would (ZIA Will lead a prayer)
like to call Zia to lead us a prayer.

Thank you zia for a wonder full prayer. For

your attendance kindly check Ms. Secratary.

If so, lets start our topic, but before that I would

like to ask if you still remember our previous
lesson.

2. Motivation

If that so, i will play a video song for your

reference for our next topic. Is that clear class?
Verb Rap Song! Students will listen to the song. Then,
act the instructions stated in the song.

B. Developmental Activity

1. Presentation of the lesson

Again, good morning, class!

Good morning, ma’am!

How did you find the activity earlier?

It was fun, ma’am!

That’s good to hear and it looks like you really

enjoyed it.
Yes, ma’am!

After the activity, what do you think is the idea

does the song wanted to tell? Anyone?

Yes, Lovelyn.

As I have heard earlier, ma’am, the

song is about verbs.
Correct. Thank you. You may now take your
seat.

2. Discussion

Now, as Lovelyn mentioned earlier that the

song tells about verbs, someone from the
class who would like to share his or her idea
of the definition of verb?

Yes, Daisy?

Ma’am, verbs are action words.

Correct. Thank you!

As you can see here, I posted a visual aid

that has the definition and few examples of
verbs. Kindly read it to the class?
Yes, Chris.
Verbs are the action words in a
sentence that describe what the subject
is doing.

Perfect. Along with nouns, verbs are the

main part of a sentence or phrase, telling a
story about what is taking place. In fact,
without a verb, full thoughts can’t be
properly conveyed. Understood?
Yes, ma’am!

Moving on, please read the first example for

me. Yes, Kristine?
Mark eats his dinner quickly.

Thank you, Kristine. On the first sentence,

the verb or the action word is? You were
raising your hand, Joshua?
Eats, ma’am.

Correct. As you can observe, the verb is

often after the subject or the doer of the
action.

Next example. Yes, Eugene and please

identify the verb.
Erica writes neatly in her notebook.
Writes is the verb in the given
sentence, ma’am.
Correct. Another example is that, “Mariah
baked the cake.” What is the verb of the
sentence? Yes, Lizel?
The verb in the sentence is “baked,”
ma’am.
Again, correct. Thank you, Lizel.
Class, upon identifying a verb in a given
sentence, if you are unsure. You could
recognize verbs by asking yourself if, “Can
I do? Can I think, wonder, walk, or yawn?”
Yes, these are verbs. Aside from this, you
can also ask, “What is happening?” Let’s
take our first example, “Mark eats his
dinner quickly.” What do you think is
happening? Yes, Mikee?
Eating is happening, ma’am.
Yes, eating is happening, so again, eating
is? Yes, it’s verb. How about on the second
and third example? Yes, Raquel?

Writing and baking are happening,

Good job. Again, class, verbs are action ma’am.
words and sometimes called, “Physical
verbs” they describe specific physical
actions. If you can create a motion with
your body or use a tool to complete an
action, the word you use to describe it is
most likely a physical verb. Are we clear?

Any question or clarifications? Yes, ma’am!

If you don’t have any question, that’s the None, ma’am.

end of our discussion; I hope you could now
be able to identify verbs in a sentence. Yes?

3. Comprehension Check up
Yes, ma’am.
Okay class, moving on, if you really
understood our topic, can you give me
another example? Joyce?

Very good. Another one? How about you,

Erica? Reading, ma’am.

Yes, swimming. John bert?

Swimming.

4. Generalization
Playing, ma’am.
You are all fast learners, impressing. Give
yourself three claps. Now class, are verbs
important?
Definitely yes, because? Yes, Michael? You’re Yes, ma’am!
raising your hand?

Because without a verb, full thoughts

Good job, please give your classmate three can’t be properly conveyed.
claps. Again class, remember that verbs are
placed before the subject, defined as action
words and they convey full thoughts properly.

5. Application

here in front and encircle the verb in each
sentence.

1. Walter walked to the store.

2. A river flows through the valley.
3. Mikee sang the song “Set Fire to the Rain”
beautifully.
4. She loves playing a piano.
5. Marjory studied her lessons for long hours
last night.

IV. EVALUATION

Any question class before the next activity?

None, ma’am!
None? Okay class, for 5 minutes I want you to
write 3 sentences, underline the noun and box
the verb in the each sentence that you have
written. Is that clear?

You may now start. Yes, ma’am.

V. ASSIGNMENT

For your assignment to be submitted next week,

you will be divided into three groups and
produce a video record regarding what you have
learned on our topic for today which is verb like
role play, jingle or you compose a song. Okay?
Great, that’s all for today and before you go, Yes, ma’am!
