Mythbusters
- FALSE. The bandwidth a customer purchases for Business Internet is strictly related to the bandwidth available on the BWG or CBR.
- FALSE. WiFi speed will reach a maximum of 250Mbps through the AP. This is due to the software that is loaded on the AP to add all
of the great WiFi Pro features. Additionally, WiFi speed is dependent on multiple factors including how many devices are on the
network, what those devices are doing, the type of device connected, and environmental factors on premise that can interfere with
WiFi.
- FALSE. While WiFi Pro can help extend the WiFi range on premise with the placement and number of APs, it also provides a
multitude of features and benefits for the customer including remote configuration, bandwidth allocation, and several marketing and
branding features
• How many concurrent users / sessions are supported per Access Point?
- FALSE. WiFi Pro works when the Access Point is connected downstream of the Connection Pro hardware and power is maintained to
the device. Customers should remember that the maximum available connection in backup mode is 10Mbps/1Mbps and should plan
their consumption accordingly. Usage dependent, Connection Pro will provide backup bandwidth to maintain WiFi to your mission
critical applications, but high consuming Private and Guest WiFi applications may be impacted.
• WiFi Pro allows customers to kick specific people off their WiFi.
- FALSE. WiFi Pro allows customer to schedule when their WiFi will broadcast and limit the amount of time customers can spend on the
network, but it cannot target individual users.
- FALSE. One huge advantage to WiFi Pro is the ability to centrally locate the AP for best coverage and multiple APs to support larger
locations. Additionally, customers have access to advanced features and functionality with WiFi Pro that they will not have with
standard WiFi.
- FALSE. WiFi Pro will work with SecurityEdge. However, if a customer has both products, content filtering of SecurityEdge will take
precedence over WiFi Pro policies.
