Evolution Of Philippine Constitution

Assessment

1. Explain what constitution is.. (answer in 50 words).

 A constitution is primarily a set of rules and principles specifying how a country should be governed, how power is
distributed and controlled, and what rights citizens possess.

2. How does the constitution protect the people? Explain in 30-45 words.

 This constitution provides the protection of the rights of the citizen and the processes and procedures of election and
system of governance.

3. Why is there a need for a constitution? Explain in 50 – 60 words.

 This is simply because it would serve as the fundamental law of the land, the basis of all the other laws that would be
enacted.

1. List down your rights as provided in the constitution.

 1987 Constitution
 Section 1. The State shall protect and promote the right of all citizens to quality education at all levels, and shall take
appropriate steps to make such education accessible to all.

 a right to due process and equal protection of law.

 a right against searches and seizures without a warrant issued by a judge.

 a right to privacy.

 The right to freedom of speech and expression, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, and the right to petition.

 The free exercise of religion.

Being a Filipino, It is important for me to express what I feel and need to see in our
country and I also wanted my voice to be heard in terms of political and economical
issues. I’ve developed a better understanding to our government operates and the impact
in every citizens.

 The federal government collects revenue from a variety of sources, including individual income taxes, payroll taxes, corporate
income taxes, and excise taxes. It also collects revenue from services like admission to national parks and customs duties.
