I. CONCEPT NOTES

In this time of pandemic, having a strong immune system is a must. One way in keeping
oneself healthy at all times is simply observing a balanced diet.

By balanced diet, it means living a healthy regimen where the needed nutrition is derived
from the combined nutrients and food groups taken in with balance. It is important to know the
right amount of food to be consumed daily by a person.

One strategy is called the My Plate Method where when eating, your plate is filled with
40% of fruits and vegetables, 25% of fiber-rich carbohydrates, 25% protein, and 10% fats.

II. EXERCISES

Prepare a meal plan using the My Plate Method to achieve proper nutrition and balanced
diet. Draw and label the food items in the plate below. Make sure your food proportions are
correct.
