Warmest greetings from the Coffee Capital of Ilocos Sur!

Relative to our request for financial assistance for the “Construction of a

Local Bridge at Lusbotan, San Ramon leading to aw-asen falls, Sigay, Ilocos Sur”
amounting to Php25M, please find below the situationer in the subject area:

i. Coffee, being the “One Town, One Product” of the municipality is

being planted in the area, estimated to cover 15 hectares;
ii. Rice is also being cultivated covering 20 hectares;
iii. Other cash and high value crops (sweet potato
iv. There are 25 coffee growers and 55 rice famers; and
v. Other livelihood activities such as poultry and piggery is also
present.

Agriculture is the major source of livelihood in the municipality.

However, the potentials of tourism is also a promising venture to augment the
income of the residents.

The construction of a bridge leading to the well-famed falls would serve

as an “access road” to the residents, provide local communities with the
opportunity to increase farmers’ income due to savings on hauling and
transportation cost, and safe from the perils of natural calamities most
especially during the rainy season. This will significantly impact the lives of the
Sigayanos, sustain agriculture and provide better market access of the farmers’
produce.
