Unit name: D8 - Sacraments of Initiation
Type of task: Research and Submission
Task is to be completed: At home and in class

Task description - What do I have to do?

You are organising the Sacramental Program at St Felix Parish and you need to provide information to
parents and primary school students about the importance of the sacraments of initiation and how the
ritual is to take place. Create a brochure on one of the sacraments below which informs the relevant
audience about the sacrament. You will have three lessons to complete the assessment and your own time.

Your brochure should include the following:


1. Identify what the sacrament is and why it is a sacrament of initiation. (50 words)
2. Outline the THREE symbols/actions used in the ritual and explore their meaning. (50 words)
3. Describe the ritual steps associated with the chosen Sacrament. (100 words)
4. Explain how the initiated person/s is able to engage in the life of the Church. You must link your
answer to the sacrament you have chosen (100 words)
5. Appropriate headings, images and scriptural references which help the target audience to engage
with the brochure.

Your brochure is to be at a maximum of TWO PAGES in length. You may use the brochure templates from
Canva and the following doc to help organise your information for your brochure.

Submission Details - How do I submit?

By Wednesday 11th August at 4:00pm, you are to submit your assessment task on the relevant learning
“Task 2 Religion” on Compass. Please see the following video to assist you with this. You may like to
export your brochure in the programme you are using as a PDF to make the upload easier. Be sure to
always keep a copy of your assessment task. If you have any technology issues, please contact your Religion
Teacher prior to the due date. Any work that is plagiarised will result in a zero mark. Make sure that your
full name and RE class is clearly visible on your brochure.
