technologies appears from time to time. We
can see it everywhere for example in the
school, community, office, outside the house,
and even in the household. This increases

fossil fuels being burned that result to climate
change. Otherwise, inventors focused on less
consuming-energy inventions to help lessen
the risk of climate change.

society? Explain and cite examples.
Society influence science and technology and at the same time science and technology
influence the society. People manipulate science and science manipulates people. Nowadays,
we can’t deny the fact that science and people who represents the society share a strong
bond. Societies influence different aspects of technology and developed and how these are
used. People control technology as well as science and are responsible for its effects. People
turn knowledge into output. For example, in a school, students learn science and they use this
knowledge to reflect in their lives and sometimes they invented something. Another thing,
Society helps determine how its resources are deployed to fund scientific work, encouraging
some sorts of research and discouraging others. Similarly, scientists are directly influenced by
the interests and needs of society and often direct their research towards topics that will serve
society. Through time some knowledge in science textbooks were revised by the scientist and
experts with the influence of their own knowledge.
The science and technology contribute to society in terms of creating new knowledge,
and then utilization of that knowledge to boost the prosperity of human lives. This will help to
solve the various issues facing society such as climate change. People’s inventions made their
lives much easier and efficient not just in household but in general living. Science and
technology are also responsible why some beliefs and actions of the people turn from
tradition to innovation. For example, the common way of boiling a water is putting it in a kettle
and put in a gas stove but under the influence of science people invented automatic water
heater.
To conclude, science and technology and the society benefit each other. Science brings
out the best of the people and people bring out the best of science. In other words, science is
one of the most important channels of knowledge. It has a specific role, as well as a variety of
functions for the benefit of our society: creating new knowledge, improving education, and
increasing the quality of our lives. Science must respond to societal needs and global
challenges.
