A hard boiled egg is cooked in its shell

in boiling water. The “hard” refers to the

consistency of the egg white (albumen)
and the yolk. Making them is simple.
First, fill a pot with enough water to
cover your eggs by about two inches.
The next step is bring it to a boil and
carefully drop in the eggs and leave
them for 10-12 minutes. For easier
peeling, place the eggs immediately in
an ice water bath after boiling then
gently tap and roll them on a counter.

The harpsichord and the piano are closely
related. Both are keyboard instruments, and
both produce sound when jacks or hammers
attached to keys strike metal strings. The piano
is a direct descendant of the harpsichord and
takes its shape from that instrument. In fact,
many musical compositions played on one can
be adapted to the other. However, today the
piano is the more popular of the two
instruments. It is capable of producing greater
volume and variety of tone, and it is more
versatile than its predecessor. Pianos provide
accompaniment for vocalists both classical
and popular, and they are used in every
instrumental group from the small dance band
to the grandest symphony orchestra.
4. COMPARISON AND CONTRAST
A comparison explains
similarities. A contrast
explains differences. This
method is basically
descriptive and the
comparisons are literal, not
figurative.
TYPES OF STRUCTURE
BLOCK STRUCTURE
 All of the information
about one of the
objects being
compared/contrasted
is given first, and all of
the information about
the other object is
listed afterwards.

The former is easier to write, while the latter is generally clearer as it ensures
that the similarities/differences are more explicit.
Aaron and Bruce differ in four ways.
The first difference is height. Aaron
is tall and is stronger in strength. In
appearance, he is an average
looking but also with average
intelligence. On the other hand,
Bruce is short in height and weak.
However, he is handsome and is
very intelligent.
TYPES OF STRUCTURE
POINT BY POINT
 Each similarity (or
difference) for one
object is followed
immediately by the
similarity (or difference)
for the other. Both
types of structure
have their merits.

The former is easier to write, while the latter is generally clearer as it ensures
that the similarities/differences are more explicit.
Aaron and Bruce differ in four ways. The
first difference is height. Aaron is
tall, while Bruce is short. A second
difference is strength. Aaron is strong. In
contrast, Bruce is weak. A third
difference is appearance. Aaron, who is
average looking, differs from Bruce, who
is handsome. The final difference is
intelligence. Aaron is of average
intelligence. Bruce, on the other hand, is
very intelligent.
