Would you pursue your needs even if it means getting others in trouble?

Many of us find it difficult to prioritize our needs over those of others. We were
taught as children that we should always put the needs of others before our own. But,
sometimes when we are feeling stressed and running around taking care of everybody
else, the healthiest thing we can do is to stop and consider how we can take care of
ourselves.

Self-care is viewed by many as selfishness. The opposite of being selfish is caring

for oneself and pursuing one's needs. Having our needs met is similar to having food, we
can't survive without. The things we need will enable us to develop the resilience to help
others and better handle life's obstacles.

We frequently disregard our own needs because we are so preoccupied with

trying to save everyone else. However, there will be times when it will cause people to
completely rely on us, which is not ideal because you will always act in their best interest
regardless of what happens. Even if it's hard, putting our own needs first will help the
people around you learn their life lessons.

It all comes down to our belief that other people are worth more than we are. We
will attract that back if we treat ourselves with self-worth and confidence in our love for
ourselves. Loving ourselves first, which is, pursuing what we need is the real key to
meaningful relationships.

We all have needs to pursue. But how we pursue it varies from person to person.
We, as an individual has different preferences. We will just listen to our inner voice for
us to find out what makes us satisfied. Pursuing our needs even if it means getting others
in trouble is a very difficult thing to do but let us always remember, it is best to think of
others but never leave yourself behind.
