Artist & Artisan Quiz:

Part II: Individual Work

Select (1) artist or Artisan in your place or locality and identify briefly his/her medium, technique,
creative process, and persons involved (if any). An artist and artisan may also come as a group.

 For the Artist

For the artists in my area, who specialize in portrait and three-dimensional drawings,
sighting and measuring is a technique he use to more accurately capture their subjects' features
in his  drawings by using "tools" to estimate their dimensions. Additionally, he can utilize these
estimates to make sure that the features of the face are positioned correctly and that their sizes
are realistic. Basic Facial Proportions Finally, he employs linear perspective, a technique that
makes use of lines to help the artist provide the appearance of space in a drawing. It is a
methodical methodology where drawing forms is referenced by a vanishing point (or points).
The artistic method he employs for his 3D and portrait drawings is called percolation. Most
artists discover that there are many things to do and consider before they can really produce a
work of art. Also the stage of real creation. Your thoughts and visuals will eventually come
together at this point, though the process will take different amounts of time for different
people.

 For the Artisan

The diw-diw, ukulele, and guitar instruments are made by local artisans in my area. They
use a mechanism called "hammer-on" to advance from one note to another without having to
re-pluck a string. In essence, you only play the string once, but by pressing harder, you can play
many notes. By pulling the string up or down, you can bend a note (depending on the position
of the string, clearly the A string cannot be bent downward or it will go off the fretboard). The
note's sound is literally "bent," sounding higher pitched as a result. Finally, the trill is the rapid
hammering on and pulling off of a string; it is essentially fast hammer-ons and pull-offs. The
creative process that the use are bookmatching, making the sides, neck production, and
attaching the bridge. The persons involve are the Libertad maker.
