 S Blend Activities

S Blend Word Cards

Sc– word cards are provided. Students can use these at
center time to sound them out, write a sentence with each
word, or work on spelling. These can be used with my other S
blend word cards to play a whole class word sort game.

Reading and Comprehension

At the bottom students will answer questions about the story. I also have
students highlight the s blend words throughout the story, and then write
how many s blend words they find.

Graph the S Blends

Students will look for three different S blends and write how many on the
lines. Then they will color in the graph.

Word Sort Worksheets

Students will cut out the pictures and paste them under the correct S blend.

ABC Order
Students will read four S blend words and write them in the correct order.

Color by S Blend
Students will read the words on the clouds and color the cloud for the s
blend.

One fall day, I was walking in the woods and could smell
the scent of apple pie. I kept walking to find where the
wonderful smell was coming from. I came to a tiny cottage
that had a scarecrow out front and a white picket fence. It
wasn’t scary, so I decided to scope out the cottage. I saw a
tall sculpture in the corner, and apples scattered in the
kitchen. There was an apple pie baking in the oven and
scones on a plate. I wonder who lives in this quiet little
cottage.
