Good afternoon, esteemed officers and Y’smen.

And welcome to the fifth monthly General

Membership Meeting of the Manila Downtown Y’smen’s Club. For those who are lucky
enough not to have met me yet, my name is Reggie Yu, a proud Y’smen since October of last
year. I shall again be your humble host for this afternoon’s meeting. Our organizers have
prepared an exciting line-up for this session, so I am confident that you will have an
enjoyably productive time today.

INTRODUCTION

One of the great pleasures of being part of this prestigious organization is the opportunity
to meet many inspiring individuals who clutter the firmament of our nation’s economy.
This afternoon, we are privileged to have not one, but five illustrious Y’smen who have
exceled as giants in the Import and Manufacturing industry. They shall share their stories
behind their successful enterprises, the challenges they encountered and how they were
able to overcome. I’m confident that, through their inspiring stories, we shall be learning a
lot of tips and tidbits on how to become successful in the Philippine Import and
Manufacturing industry.

CALL TO ORDER

Let us formally begin the program by inviting our President, CP Alex Yu to call this meeting
to order.

PRAYER

Thank you, CP Alex. Let us now invite Y’s Marvin to lead us for a short prayer.

Y’SMEN HYMN AND WELCOME REMARKS

Thank you, Y’s Marvin, for that inspiring prayer. Let us now invite no less than our
esteemed President Alex to lead us in the singing of the Y’smen Hymn and render his
Welcome Remarks to you all. CP Alex, you have the virtual floor.

INDUCTION OF NEW MEMBERS

Thank you, CP Alex, for that beautiful singing voice and your encouraging message.

Fellow Y’smen: We all know that ability alone does not lead to achievement. Enthusiasm,
knowledge, perseverance, and unity promote success. Because these characteristics are
essential to our movement’s overall success, the entry of New Blood should be most
welcome. This afternoon, the Manila Downtown Y’smen’s Club is fortunate to have a
number of aspirants for their official induction as part of the organization’s regular Y’smen
roster.

In this regard, I would like to present the following gentlemen for their induction:

1. Robert Chan Jr., Manager at Atlanta Industries, Inc.

2. Eric Lee, President of MCX International.
3. Charlie Lim, CEO of Triple Charles Marketing and a Trustee of Manila Downtown
YMCA
4. Randall Lim, President of RLEC888, Inc.
5. Richard Lui, President of Champion Group Corporation
6. The Honorable Alexander Martos, President of the Coconut Industry Investment
Fund, Oil Mills Group
7. Ornel Jayson Sy, Vice-President of Sy Chi Siong and Company

At this juncture, I would like to call in our President, CP Alex, to formally render the

(Alex inducts them)

Congratulations to all our newly-inducted members and welcome to the Manila Downtown
Y’smen’s Club!

SPEAKERS
We now come to the highlight of this afternoon’s GMM, as we prepare to learn from the
stories of our esteemed Y’smen.

JOHN L. CHOA

Our first speaker is none other than the Past International President of Y’s Men
International in 2004, who also served as Past Asia President in the year 2000, Past
Regional Director, Past District Governor, and Past President of the Manila
Downtown Y’smen Club.

Apart from Y’smen, he has been very active in leadership roles in other
organizations. He reached the pinnacle of the Free and Accepted Masons, having
served as Grand Master in 1990; Grand Treasurer from 1997 till 2005; District
Deputy Grand Master for five consecutive years; and Worshipful Master at the
Manila-Mt. Lebanon Lodge No. 1. He served as Founder, Organizer and Charter
President of Square and Compass Toastmaster Club No. 9749-75, and later was
elected Area Governor of Area IV of the Toastmaster International Philippine
District.
Within his industry, he served as President for an unprecedented eleven years at the
Printing Industries Association of the Philippines, and recognized as the
Association’s President Emeritus. He was appointed Ambassador-at-Large in the
Territory of Guam.

He holds several companies as Chairman of the Board and CEO, including Stanley
Printing Company, Stanley Plastic Company, Intercontinental Resources and
Investment Corporation, and Philippine Dynamic Systems, among many others. A
Bachelor of Science in Commerce Graduate from the Far Eastern University in 1967,
he completed his Bachelor of Laws at the Far Eastern University in 1971.

Without further ado, please give our warmest applause to none other than our
dynamic esteemed Y’smen veteran, Past International President JOHN CHOA!

EDISON GO

Thank you, PIP JOHN CHOA for that very enlightening talk. I’m sure many of our
Y’smen are very, very inspired with the growth of your business. We look forward to
even more successes in the future.

Our next speaker is involved in a wide variety of business, from freight forwarding,
fertilizers, and importation, but his main business is that of customs brokerage,
being the President and CEO of Shine Matrix Brokerage.

He graduated from Xavier School in 1974 and initially pursued an engineering

degree from De La Salle University. However, when his mom passed away two years
later, he left the university to assist his dad in managing the brokerage business at a
tender age of 19. But his decades worth of experience in the business definitely
more than made up for his lack of a university degree, as he was able to
exponentially expand his dad’s business to the thriving group of companies he
currently manages today. Like our first speaker, he is also a member of the Free and
Accepted Masons, being with the Manuel A. Roxas Memorial Lodge No. 152.

Ladies and Gentlemen, let us all give a sizzling welcome to our illustrious Y’smen,
none other than EDISON D. GO.

MARK EUGENE TAN

Thank you, Y’s EDISON GO for that every illuminating presentation.

Our third speaker is a man who needs no further introduction among the Y’smen
circles. An outstanding speaker and event organizer, he served as President of the
Manila Downtown Y’smens Club and Co-Chaired the Asia’s Ysmen Regional
Convention that same year. Apart from Y’smen, he assumed key positions in the
Rotary Club of University District Manila, having served as President, and
consequently served in a number of roles in his district 3810, including being the
incumbent district trainer for the past seven years and counting.

A certified John Maxwell’s Million Leaders Mandate, he heads several companies,

two of them being Wakuland Amusement, with 17 branches located in major malls
nationwide, and Palmeco Philippines, a building materials supplier which is certified
by the Eco-Green Environment Board.

A graduate of Xavier School (I won’t say his batch anymore, since he wants to keep it
a secret daw. Needless to say he’s younger than I am), he completed his Bachelor of
Science degree in Botany from the University of Sto. Tomas, and was even
nominated as one of the 40 most outstanding students of the College.

Friends, let us all give our sunniest welcome to none other than our past President,
the dashing and debonair MARK EUGENE TAN.

JAMES ANG

Thank you very much, PP MARK EUGENE TAN for that very impressive
presentation.

Our fourth speaker is heads one of the leading plastic injecting molding, blow
molding, and mold tool-makers in the country today, supplying a wide variety of
inject and blow-molded plastics. He graduated from Chiang Kai Shek College in 1990
and completed his Bachelor of Science, Major in Industrial Engineering degree from
the Mapua Institute of Technology in 1995. He later underwent extensive training
for plastic molding for five months in Japan under the Association for Overseas
Technical Scholarship Program.

He is a member of the society of Manufacturing Engineers Manila Chapter since

2008, and served as chapter chairman in 2015. Aapart from this, he is a members of
the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Valenzuela since 2010, and the
Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary since 2018.

Let us now give our most sizzling accolades to Y’smen JAMES ANG.

DERRICK VILLANUEVA

Thank you very much, Y’smen James for that illuminating discussion of the plastic
molding business.

Our last, but certainly not the least, speaker is hands-down one of the most
prominent new members we have here at Y’smen Manila Downtown Club. A
graduate of Jubilee Christian Academy, he is a widely-educated entrepreneur and
certainly possesses an impressive educational profile. He graduated with a degree in
Entrepreneurial Management at the University of Asia and the Pacific, pursued a
degree as a chemical technologist at the British Columbia Institute of Technology,
and is currently a Masters in Business Administration candidate from the Ateneo
Regis Graduate School of Business.

He currently sits as a director and General Manager of Crown Asia Chemicals

Corporation, a director of WTDerrick Realty Corporation, and a director at Husky
Plastics Corporation. Under his leadership, he catapulted Crown Asia Chemicals as a
publicly-listed company in 2015, and was named one of three companies in “Forbes
Asia Best Under a Billion” and awarded “200 Best Companies among 18,000
companies in Asia.”

He is a member of the Anvil Business Club, a candidate for the Philippine Coast
Guard Auxiliary’s 100th Squadron, and is an Arnis Lakan black belter in the sport of
Modern Arnis.
