Disaster Readiness and Risk Reduction

1. I can say that the picture speaks an important message where the boy in the picture was indecisive
about the things in front of him. He is unsure on how it works and to explain the quotation, it simply means that
we shouldn’t put ourselves in danger for it will not just cost a thing but can also get a life. In addition to that the
quotation would like to remind us that we should consult someone if we didn’t know how something and for us
not to take a risk and will end up into an accident.

2. The hazard in the picture/situation is the electrical devices that the man is trying to figure out. This can
cause a damage or harm in a way that the man can experienced electric shock, burns and worst can cause fire or
any electrical hazards if he couldn’t do the correct set up of the said device. Moreover, this can lead to so much
trouble on his part where there is a chance that can put his life at risk.

3. What is being exposed in the picture is the boy in the picture, the work place it can also be the vicinity
or environment and people who are near the place.

4. I think the character in the picture is vulnerable because he will experience the impact of the hazard.
Other than that, he is at risk and will shield all of the damage that might happen because he doesn’t wear any
personal protective equipment or clothes that is appropriate to wear while doing his work. And lastly, he is
considered as vulnerable because he is susceptible or prone to the accident due to, he presence of the hazard.

5. Based on my analysis, the hazard, exposure and vulnerability in the given picture was presented clearly.
What is considered as the hazard in the given picture is the electrical devices that can cause electric shocks and
other possible harms. While the boy in the picture, the workplace, the environment, and the people who are near
in the vicinity are exposed in the hazard. And lastly, is the considered vulnerability in the given picture or situation
which is the boy.
