Activity 1: Short Answer Questions, Statements &/ Essay.

1. Write a statement that expresses the purposes of writing with the topic of communication which
is not less than 50 words. To ensure effective communication, use the 7/8cs of communication.

To inform
Communication means of sending or receiving information, such as phone lines or
computers. It is used to get ideas, give information and form links between others to have
a definite understanding about things. Everyone communicate for a purpose, it might be
on the purpose of informing, persuading, entertaining, arguing and many more.

To entertain
Communicating can be a form of expressing love. It can make our life sweet, active and
progressive. Having to someone special can make our day complete. Communication is a
way to show how passionate we are about something. It is the very first step that we
must do to relate with others.

To explain

Communication is the act of sending information from one place, person, or organization
to another. A sender, a message, and a recipient are all part of any communication. This
may appear straightforward, yet communication is a complex subject. A wide range of
factors can influence the message's passage from sender to destination. These factors
include our emotions, cultural context, communication medium, and even geographic
location.

To persuade
Did you know that communicating can make your brains active? You can also get any
information you want if you communicate and it is essential to form links with others.
Communicating is healthy and you must do it daily, hourly, and most of the time. Start
and try it now by talking to the nearest person with you.

To argue
Communicating is a good thing. It has a lot of benefits and we need it to survive, to be
updated and to be a human but, to what extent does communication falls under its good
benefits. Is communicating always good? Is it always healthy? Or does the connection it
offers always in a good point?

To evaluate
Communication is a cycle or process of sending messages through a channel and then
received by a recipient. The recipient then sends feedback to be received by the sender to
know if the listener gets the message we want to deliver. In a simpler term,
communication is a cycle between two or more persons interchanging messages for a
same purpose.

2. REFLECTION: How does purposive communication benefit you personally and/ professionally?
- Purposive communication helps us to be able to communicate effectively. During
discussion, it will also help us to listen, understand and convey with our own understanding
of the context. Personally, it can make me a good communicator thus, it enables me get
the information I needed in my everyday life. It can create a healthy relationship
between me and the society. Professionally, purposive communication can help me
address the jobs and tasks I need to do as well as communicate the conflicts to the
organization. On the other hand, it is very important to professionals as they going to
interact and communicate with a variety of audiences.
