Blends and Digraphs
Blends are two letters put together where you

hear both sounds.
Digraphs are two letters put together where

you hear one sound.
Some programs define the qu pattern as a

blend of the k and w sounds. Others define it
as a digraph because it makes a sound that
you wouldn’t expect based on the letters
present.
There are two sets of blends and digraphs
