ROLE OF THE YOUTH IN
DISASTER PREPAREDNESS
Youth can contribute significantly to disaster
recovery and preparation. Youth-serving organizations
can help youths become more aware of hazards by
involving them in disaster planning and recovery. This
can also increase the likelihood that they will openly
discuss how to protect their families and loved ones
and know how to get help if their community is
impacted.
