ASSESSMENTS

Additional Mathematics
Assessments in Additional Mathematics will be like in the other subjects, i.e., Formative will consist of written unit test of 20 marks and internally they
will be graded for 10 marks. (There will be a separate exam day for Additional Maths, it will not be on the same day as the Extended Maths exam).
Internal Marks (10 marks) breakdown
▪ Homework (scaled to): 2 marks
▪ Continuous short class tests (scaled to): 6 marks
▪ Class activities (scaled to): 2 marks
Extended Mathematics:
The 30 marks formative will be assessed through in class tests and activities in Extended Mathematics. For the Summative examinations in grade 9,
they will give a 70 marks paper (25 marks paper 2 style, 45 marks paper 4 style exams, 2 hours long).
Formative assessment breakdown
▪ In-class written test (scaled to): 20 marks
▪ Homework (scaled to): 2 marks
▪ Continuous short class tests (scaled to): 6 marks
▪ Class activities (scaled to): 2 marks

Extended Mathematics Mock Examinations will be the same as those of the other grade 9 students who have opted for only Extended
Mathematics

OTHER NOTES:
• All are afternoon classes, so I request support and patience.
• Worksheets will be given regularly in class.
• The textbook is for the students’ self-practice, and homework. Textbooks need not be brought to school.
• Resources and practice material will be uploaded on Managebac (Files tab) as and when appropriate.
