Commonwealth of Kentucky Proof of Insurance

Keep one card in each vehicle or with the person driving. This also applies if your vehicle is a motorcycle or
motor scooter.
Contact USAA if the vehicle ID number on your insurance card doesn't match the numbers on your vehicle. If your
vehicle and motor vehicle registration ID numbers don't match, contact your county clerk.
We'll electronically report proof of insurance to the Department of Vehicle Regulations if our records show a
Kentucky registration for your vehicle. If your vehicle ID number doesn't appear in the department's database,
you're required to present your county clerk with a copy of your insurance cards for a replacement plate, decal or
registration certificate or renewal.
