Regional Compliance Officer

Job Purpose
Regional Compliance Officer is responsible of supporting Allianz Africa (AZAF) Chief
Governance & Compliance Officer to establish, implement and maintain an effective
Compliance Management System (CMS) across AZAF and its Operating Entities. He/she
also maintains additional roles and responsibilities required as laid out in the Group
Compliance Policy and AZAF Compliance Policy.

Key Responsibilities
 Communication and Organization:
-Support the development, definition and implementation of tasks in line with the
strategy of AZAF CMS.
-Cooperate and align within AZAF Governance & Compliance with respect to overall
programs to build a holistic AZAF CMS.
-Cooperate with Compliance functions in African Operating Entities and with other
functions at AZAF Regional Hub.
-Achieving alignment of the Compliance function across the Region, and cross-functional,
e.g. Risk Management, Audit and Legal.
 Compliance & Governance:
-Assist the development and execution of regional initiatives in alignment with the overall
AZAF Compliance strategy.
-Manage Compliance tasks based on applicable laws and regulations throughout the
AZAF Region.
-Manage Compliance programs by adopting Group Standards proportionate to Regional
needs and regulatory requirements.
-Caretaking of AZAF System of Governance to ensure completeness of corporate rules
framework, its regular review, annual review of the elements of the System of
Governance and collaboration with key control functions.
 Compliance Monitoring and Mitigation:
-Identify and analyze key Compliance risks, establish and maintain key controls to
mitigate them.
-Define and perform annual risk identification & maturity assessment in accordance with
Allianz Group requirements.
-Execute comprehensive, accurate, timely and cost efficient Compliance Quality
Assurance across AZAF Region.
-Support and monitor African Operating Entities in remediation of identified
improvement areas.
 Reporting and Awareness & Training:
-Develop and facilitate Regional Compliance trainings and roll-out awareness for
Compliance programs.
Support and ensure reliable reporting upstream from AZAF Operating Entities to AZAF
Governance & Compliance

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
–A Minimum of 5 years of detailed working experience in a Compliance / Risk
Management /
Project Management environment.
–Experience in the insurance industry.
–Strong knowledge about risks and controls applicable to insurance business.
–Master Degree in Law, social science, economics degree or equivalent.
–Working in an intercultural environment.
–Strong skills in communication and collaboration.
–Good Level in English and French.
