Opportunity Recognition
Creativity
Briefly discuss key insights or takeaways that could change your thinking or approach.
The process of creating something starts with ideation, it's when we think of possible
solutions for the problems, we encounter that we try to come up with the design of a
product in mind. However, we sometimes focus on the solutions and ideas a lot, so much
so that we tend to neglect to investigate the problem. Thus, we end up creating ideas that
are more or less, subpar to what we could've come up with had we focused on the
problem while formulating a solution.
Opportunity is all around us, but we don’t always have the eye to identify it as an
opportunity. We must start to look at things as what they could be, rather than just taking
them as what they are.
Innovation comes in two forms, one is redesigning an existing innovation and adding a
few more function and the other is creating a novel product or service.
To make your innovation appeal to the masses, empathize with the masses first. Empathy
makes you open to what your intended customer feels and by that you can better see what
they need and how they wish to sustain that need thereby making you design in line with
their preferences.
It is most beneficial for you to use both right side and left side of your brain, because
these two have their own functions and advantages.
Additional Comments:
Creativity is necessary to create something of note, but empathy can further your
creativity in lengths.
Opportunity doesn’t always knock; at time you must learn to recognize them on
your own without anyone else’s prompting.
Innovation is linked to creativity and opportunity recognition.
