Reflection Paper : This Story Will Help You Understand Your Worth

Like a lot of people, I've been questioning my own value. One of the
questions I keep asking myself is, "What is worth?", and the, "Who
determines a person's value?" It should go without saying that simply asking
questions will not result in any action. The answers to my questions,
however, were provided upon watching a video discussing self-worth.

A short story about a father teaching his son about value and worth
was presented in the video. He sent his son to three different places to
inquire about the watch's value, but only one of them gave him a higher
estimate. Because of it, the father telling his son that you don't need to stay
in a place where it doesn't value you because there's a right place will. The
video emphasized the importance of knowing one's own worth. Lack of self-
awareness will cause one to accept less than they truly deserve. This is
accurate since people frequently define themselves in light of other people.
This video helped me come to my awareness and gave the solutions I was
asking for. What is worth? There is someone who deserves it. Who
determines a person's value? My value and worth can only be determined
by me and those that accept me for who I am. The opinions and judgments
of other people don't matter to you as long as you have self-confidence.
One should avoid trying too hard to fit in since the right place will let you in
without making an effort.

The main lesson from all of those things is to never allow anyone
else define who you are. Recognize your own worth and surround yourself
with individuals who share it. Do not accept anything less than what you
deserve, and disregard the opinions of others. The key to living is that
accepting who you are and not letting other people define you. Everyone is
free to be who they are, and everyone of us has a worth that is unique to us.
