    Activity 1
    Investigating Colloids

    Let’s find out: What do you observe in some mixtures as you pass a beam of light
    through them?

    Let’s use the materials: 3 pcs of transparent disposable cups, plastic spoon
    1 teaspoon flour, 1teaspoon salt, small laser pen or flashlight.
    1 teaspoon milk, apron/lab gown, hairnet/ponytail, and rugs.

    Let’s do it this way:

    1. Place three disposable cups on the top of the table.

    2. Fill the cups with clean water.

    3. Put 1 teaspoon flour in one cup and stir. Mark this as setup A.

    4. Put 1 teaspoon salt in the other cup and stir. Mark this as setup B.

    5. Put 1 teaspoon milk in the other cup and stir. Mark this as setup C.

    6. Using the small laser pen/ flashlight, pass a beam of light through each of the
    mixtures from the side of each glass. Observe the setups.
