INTRODUCTION
 1. INTRODUCTION
GROUNDNUT OIL EXTRACTION

Groundnut oil, also known as Peanut oil, is a vegetable oil derived

from peanut. The oil usually has a mild or neutral flavor but, if made with

roasted peanuts, has a stronger peanut flavor and aroma. It is often used

in American, Chinese, Indian, African and Southeast Asian cuisine, both for

general cooking, and in the case of roasted oil, for added flavor. Peanut oil

has a high smoke point relative to many other cooking oils, so it is

commonly used for frying foods. The oil is available in refined, unrefined,

cold pressed, and roasted varieties, the latter with a strong peanut flavor and

aroma, analogous to sesame oil.

PRODUCT BENEFITS

 The use of groundnut oil can make the body's cholesterol into bile acids

and excreted, thereby reducing the plasma cholesterol levels.

 In addition, the peanut oil also contains sterol, wheat germ phenol,

phospholipids, vitamin E, choline and other beneficial substances for

human.

 Regular consumption of peanut oil can prevent the skin wrinkle aging,

protect the vessel wall, prevent thrombosis, help prevent atherosclerosis and

coronary artery disease.

 The choline in peanut oil can also improve the memory of the human

brain and slow down brain function decline.

RAW MATERIAL

Groundnuts are the main raw material for manufacturing Groundnut oil:

Cost per Kg is approx. Rs.80-85. Groundnuts are a nutritious, hunger-

satisfying, low-glycemic snack. Ground Nuts are important protein crops in

India grown mostly under rain-fed conditions. The awareness and concern
for quality amongst the Indian groundnut sellers and processors are growing

steadily.

 4. MANUFACTURING PROCESS

A complete seed of Groundnut is called as pod and contains one to five

kernels, which develops underground in a needle like structure called as peg. In the

first step, the healthy and mature seeds of ground nut are harvested from the

authorized inventor.
1. Cleaning:-

Clean the ground nuts properly to remove, dirt, sand, and spoilt seeds. Use dry

screening to remove all over or undersized seeds.

2. Crushing:-

The outer seed coat of groundnut is removed by a power-operated dehuller.

Outer seed coat does not contain oil and hence is removed to avoid junk in oil.
3. Grinding or rolling:-

Oil extraction is maximum with smaller particles. Grinding reduces the seed

size. Rolling the seeds produces flakes. Large oil mills might use both grinding and

rolling to extract maximum oil.

4. Heating:-

Heating increases oil yield. It kills the enzymes that deteriorate oil quality.

5. Pressing:-

Pressing the processed seeds using a lever press, mechanical expeller or

hydraulic press separates the oil.

6. Refining:-

The extracted oil is further refined to remove dust or dirt. Refining adds great

value to the oil.

The global groundnut oil market is highly congested with high level of

competition among key players. Moreover, since there is no unique

functionality of groundnut oil when compared to other vegetable oils, the

demand is anticipated to remain stagnant throughout the forecast period.

Peanut oil is an edible vegetable oil that is derived from peanuts.

The peanut oil market size has the potential to grow by USD 1.90 billion

during 2020-2024, and the market’s growth momentum will accelerate during

the forecast period.

Peanut or groundnut oil is a well-established product with a historically

high use in several Asian foods and cuisines. It is used either as a base for

cooking (cooking oil) or to enhance the flavor of the underlying food.

6.1 Land

Land required 1500-1800 square feet approx.

Approximate rent for the same is Rs.30000-35000 per month.

feed water inlet. Then this
water comes down
through the down-comer
pipe and enters into
inclined water tube placed
in hot chamber. Here, the
water becomes hot and
steam is produced in the
water which comes into
steam chamber.
4. Groundnut oil This machine is used to
expeller crush the groundnut
kernels to produce oil. The
expelling unit consists of a
screw expellant shaft.
Rotary screw arrangement
is made in the machine
for crushing the
Groundnuts.
5. Oil Filter Press An industrial filter press is a
tool used in separation
processes, specifically to
separate solids and liquids.
The machine stacks many
filter elements and allows the
filter to be easily opened to
remove the filtered solids, and
allows easy cleaning or
replacement of the filter
media.

6. Bottle filling This machine is used to fill

machine oil within the bottles at
sufficient pressure in
required quantity.
 7. Other machineries Oil collection tank, pump,
& equipment. screw conveyor, bins etc.

Note: Cost of machinery is approx. Rs.80000 excluding GST and other

transportation cost.
6.3 Power Requirement

The borrower shall require power load of 50 HP which shall be applied

with Power Corporation. However, for standby power arrangement the

borrower shall also purchase DG Set.

6.4 Manpower Requirement

5-6 Manpower are required for the Ground nut oil

unit. Includes:
10 Skilled Labours

10 Unskilled Labours

2 Accountants

The industrial training helps to examine the standards and working process

of the VISAKA PRODUCTS, I gained knowledge about the various departments

in the company, their working duties and responsibilities as well company’s

intension in giving employment to the people who are willing work.

The industrial training given me more confidence about future. A overall

study of the company gave me static of the production process, the words co-

operations in company’s Development and increased productivity.

From the Study of this company I understood the functions and features of

the company. This company is improving their quality, goodwill, market value and

they are giving job opportunity so many people. They are the strength of the

company. In fact we can see that the company has modernized its machineries and

all and it’s the biggest.
