1 GENERAL INFORMATION
APPLICATION AS DIRECTED
The glide path indicator HIGPI112 is used to indicate the correct glide path to the pilot of an
approaching helicopter by projecting a light beam, which is divided in three sectors. This light beam is
stabilized by a motion reference unit (MRU) to compensate the ship’s rolling and pitching
movements and to provide reliable glide path information for the pilot. The NVG (night vision goggle)
mode light beam will change to monochrome green light only. The different sectors are then
distinguished by their flashing frequencies. All sectors will appear with the same intensity to the
pilot.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
It is absolutely essential that you read and understand these safety instructions carefully before
installing, connecting and operating any LINKSrechts products. Your safety depends on it.
Noncompliance with these instructions will void the warranty. LINKSrechts has manufactured, tested
and delivered this product in safe operating condition.
2 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The glide path indicator system is a visual aid system for helicopter landings. The correct glide path is
indicated by a steady green light sector which is aligned to the required glide path. The upper slow
blinking amber coloured sector and the lower fast blinking red coloured sector of projected light
indicate that the approach is too high or respectively too low.
In NVG (Night Vision Goggle) mode the sectors are monochrome green, but the blinking frequencies
of the sectors are identical.
The glide path indicator can be switched and dimmed with the control panel LRDS071. In addition the
beam bearing can be adjusted. The NVG mode can be selected, too.
Regardless of the vessel’s roll and pitch movements the beam is stabilized because of its internal gyro
sensor.
LINKSrechts Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH System Manual HIGPI Standalone System Page 8
The main switch cabinet contains the power supply and the programmable controller which control
and monitor all HIGPI112 functions. As far as the complete HIGPI system is operated from the control
panel LRDS071, the MSVL only holds a main switch and three LED status lights.
When the glide path indicator is switched on at the main switch the white status light “MAIN” at the
MSVL door is active, indicating that the main power is on. After the programmable controllers inside
the MSVL have completely started the green status light “OPERATION” will also be active. If the red
status light “FAULT” is active, a malfunction occurred in the system. In this case further help is found
in the chapter “Troubleshooting” of this manual.
The MSVL is equipped with a switch cabinet light and a 230 V power outlet for service purpose. The
MSVL door is equipped with door stoppers and ground straps. The cable diagram of the HIGPI112
system is provided in the door holder of the MSVL.
The main switch of the MSVL must be switched “ON” to use the glide path indicator HIGPI112. The
HIGPI112 is switched and dimmed by the control panel LRDS071. The direction of the glide path can
also be adjusted on this panel.
The glide path indicator HIGPI112 shows the correct glide path to the pilot in an approaching
helicopter. The light is divided in three sectors of different colours and blinking frequencies. The
status of the HIGPI112 is indicated by the simulated status-LEDs “ON” and “LIGHT” on the display.
The glide path is automatically stabilized independently from the ship’s roll and pitch movements
which is recognized by a gyro-sensor.
The correct glide path is indicated by a steady green light sector which is aligned with the required
glide angle. The upper slow blinking amber sector and the lower fast blinking red sector of projected
light indicate that the approach is too high or respectively too low.
Normal mode:
The upper sector is indicated by a slow blinking amber light (too high)
The central sector is indicated by a steady green light (correct glide path)
The lower sector is indicated by a fast blinking red light (too low)
Please note:
The red light of the glide path indicator is not NVG compatible. When NVG mode is selected at the
control panel LRDS071 the different sectors of the light beam will be indicated by green light only.

NVG mode:
The upper sector is indicated by a slow blinking green light (too high)
The central sector is indicated by a steady green light (correct glide path)
The lower sector is indicated by a fast blinking green light (too low)
For the case that the status-LED “ERROR” should be active please refer to chapter 6
“Troubleshooting” of this manual for a structured identification of the malfunction.
The glide path indicator HIGPI112 is powered and fused from the MSVL.

5 MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
All rules and regulations regarding health care, safety and system operation
have to be observed when handling the HVLA System.
WARNING!
Maintaining the HVLA System means to carry out occasional visual inspections of all components,
general cleaning works whenever they are necessary and the regular check for Nitrogen pressure,
refill and flush (if necessary). To obtain the highest operational readiness of the system the
maintenance work should be performed in regularly determined intervals during the whole life cycle
of the system.
Prior to performing any maintenance tasks at the visual landing aid system,
the person in charge must ensure that all power supplies are switched off
and have been secured against unauthorized activation. Warnings and safety
instructions are to be observed.
WARNING!
For preventive maintenance reasons a complete operation check of the helicopter visual landing aid
system should be executed monthly.
6 TROUBLESHOOTING
REPLACEMENT OF MODULES IN THE MSVL
The MSVL must be disconnected from the electrical power supply before the
exchange of electrical components starts.
WARNING!
- Blown fuses must be replaced solely by fuses of the same type, size
and value (see the HVLAS wiring diagram).
- Blown fuses must not be short-circuited or “repaired”.
- All automatic circuit breaker used in this installation can be switched
on again after they released.
WARNING!
The 24 V DC power supply is fixed to the rear mounting plate of the MSVL with six screws.
Clearly mark all connection cables before removing them from the clamps.
Remove all cables from the clamps.
Remove the six screws and dismount the power supply.
Fix a new power supply to the mounting plate.
Reconnect all cables according to your identification marks.
The controller module is fixed on the cap rail to the rear mounting plate of the MSVL
Clearly mark all connection cables before removing them from the clamps
Remove all cables from the clamps
Remove the controller module from the cap rail as shown below
Fix a new controller module to the cap rail
Re-connect all cables according to your identification marks
To remove a controller module release the locking disc by pressing a screwdriver into the bottom
groove and pull the orange coloured release lug.
LINKSrechts Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH System Manual HIGPI Standalone System Page 18
Open the lid and remove the fuse. Now a new fuse can be inserted and the lid can be closed. Push
the fuse holder back into the supply module to close the circuit.
The green LEDs “Voltage supply system”, “I/O” and “RUN” must be active a few seconds after start-
up. The green LED “Power jumper contacts” is not active. If the green status-LED “Voltage supply
system” is not active check the supply voltage. The voltage must be 24 V DC. If the voltage is ok the
controller module is defective and must be replaced.
CAN-BUS TROUBLESHOOTING
The CAN-bus is used to transmit the user operations from the LRDS071 to the controller module in
the MSVL. An indication for a malfunction of the CAN-bus is given if:
In this case switch off the HIGPI system at the main switch of the MSVL and restart the system. If the
malfunction of the CAN-bus recurs it can be identified with the support of the wiring diagram and the
following description.
1.-2.
If components of the HIGPI standalone system should not react on operators control or the
red status-LEDs “CAN” of a controller module in the MSVL is active switch off the HIGPI112
system at the main switch of the MSVL.
Check the proper wiring of the CAN-bus by measuring the electrical resistance between the
wires CAN-H and CAN-L without opening any cable connection. It should be 60 Ω which are
the result of the parallel connection of the two terminating resistors of 120 Ω at both ends of
the CAN-bus wiring.
The terminating resistors are connected to either end of the CAN-bus installation (for
detailed information see the HVLAS Wiring Diagram).
All other components of the CAN-bus network do not have a terminating resistor. Therefore they are
of high resistance between their connectors CAN-H and CAN-L. By systematic disconnecting and
measuring the electrical resistance an interrupted CAN-bus connection can be identified and
replaced with the support of the wiring diagrams.
LINKSrechts Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH System Manual HIGPI Standalone System Page 22
SYSTEM FAILURE
A reasonable troubleshooting is possible when the main switch of the MSVL is in position “ON”. An
error can be localized based on the following information:
The red LED status light “FAULT” in the door of the MSVL is active
One of different LED indicators at the switch cabinet’s internal components is active
If the LED status light “FAULT” of the MSVL is active shut down the whole HIGPI112 system and
restart it after 30 seconds. If the failure still occurs after the start-up procedure is completed, start
the troubleshooting of the MSVL.
LINKSrechts Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH System Manual HIGPI Standalone System Page 23
If the “FAULT” lamp is steadily active, open the MSVL and check the internal power modules.
If one of the power modules does not have a green “DC ok” lamp the power module has a problem.
If the voltage at the input of the power module is not 230 V AC it is necessary to check the
corresponding fuses.
If the green “DC ok” lamp of the power module is active check the output voltage. If there is about
24 V DC available please check the fuses listed below.
If the voltage at the input terminals is ok and the voltage at the output is not 24 V DC the power
module is defect and has to be replaced. If all power modules are working fine and the failure is still
there it is necessary to check the glide path indicator HIGPI112.
LINKSrechts Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH System Manual HIGPI Standalone System Page 24
For the case that the glide path indicator HIGPI112 is not lighting after it has been switched on at the
control panel LRDS071 switch off the HVLA System with the main switch of the MSVL. Switch on the
MSVL again after about 30 seconds.
After further 120 seconds of waiting time switch on the glide path indicator at the control panel. If
the HIGPI112 should not lighten now switch off the glide path indicator and check whether the status
indicator “ERROR” at the control panel is active or not.
1. To check the power supply of the HIGPI112 the outer housing has to be lifted and the cover
of the terminal connections has to be removed. The mounting screws of the cover are
secured against loss.
The terminal clamp is located at the lower front of the HIGPI112 and it is only accessible if
the housing is lifted.
Measure the voltage supply between Terminal 14 and 16, and Terminal 18 and 20.
If the glide path indicator is correctly energized the measuring result have to be 24 V.
LINKSrechts Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH System Manual HIGPI Standalone System Page 25
2. Switch off the glide path indicator at the control panel LRDS and check all fuses.
Check the screen “info” of the control panel LRDS071 (see chapter 3 “Technical Description and
Operation” of this manual), record the colours of the status messages into a protocol and send it to
LINKSrechts to obtain support of the Customer Service Centre.

1 GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 APPLICATION AS DIRECTED
The Glide Path Indicator HIGPI112 is used to indicate the correct glide path to the pilot of an
approaching helicopter by projecting a light beam, which is divided in three sectors. This light beam is
stabilized by a motion reference unit (MRU) to compensate the ship’s rolling and pitching movements
and to provide reliable glide path information for the pilot. The NVG (Night Vision Goggle) mode light
beam will change to monochrome green light only. The different sectors are then distinguished by their
flashing frequencies. All sectors will appear with the same intensity to the pilot.
2 COMMON DESCRIPTION
The correct glide path is indicated by a steady green light sector which is aligned to the required glide
path. The upper slow blinking amber coloured sector and the lower fast blinking red coloured sector of
projected light indicate that the approach is too high or respectively too low. In NVG (Night Vision
Goggle) mode the blinking frequencies are identical.
CAUTION: The HIGPI 112 should only be transported, moved or installed without the outer housing.
In the normal operation mode the glide path is divided into three sectors:
The upper sector is constituted by slow blinking amber light (approach to high).
The middle sector is constituted by steady green light (glide path correct).
The lower sector is constituted by fast blinking red light (approach to low).
Horizontally the glide path opens in a 30° sector with 15° to both sides from the selected centreline. The
lateral centre can be adjusted via the Beam Bearing function that will be described at a later stage.
User Technical Manual – Glide Path Indicator type HIGPI Page 7
The normal operating mode cannot be used for operation with NVG as far as the red colour will cause
blinding effects to the pilot reducing the operational capabilities. In NVG mode the light beam will
change to monochrome green light. The different sectors are then distinguished by their flash
frequencies. All sectors will appear with the same intensity for the pilot.
The NVG operation mode can be selected or deselected at the FDO control panel if the HIGPI112 is
included in a HVLA (Helicopter Visual Landing Aid) System.
User Technical Manual – Glide Path Indicator type HIGPI Page 8
C. BEAM BEARING
According to the requirements of the approaching helicopters the light beam can be adjusted between
90° (port side) and 270° (starboard side).
The beam bearing can be adjusted on the beam bearing page of the control panel LRDS071. Turn the
control knob left or right to decrease or increase the beam bearing angle. After about 4 seconds without
changing the HIGPI will move to the adjusted position. The current beam position with reference to the
helicopter deck will be displayed by the yellow line:
2.2 OPERATION
The glide path indicator HIGPI112 will be delivered with the control panel LRDS071. If the HIGPI112 is
not included in a HVLA system of LINKSrechts all operations can be done by this panel. Every operation
will be carried out by a turning knob and five push buttons. All operations are clearly visualized and
extensive self-explanatory.
If the glide path indicator HIGPI112 is included in a HVLA (Helicopter Visual Landing Aid) System of
LINKSrechts, the main functions of HIGPI112 are operated from the FDO control panel. The adjustment
of the beam bearing can only be performed on the LRDS071 or the HIWS112 working station.
Switching ON/OFF and setting of dim-steps is done by the switch/dim module “GLIDE PATH INDICATOR”,
which is integrated into the FDO control panel. The activation of the NVG mode for the HVLA system is
done by the switch module “NVG MODE”, which also activates the NVG mode for the HIGPI 112.
(1) By pushing the rightmost button (1) the beam of the glide path indicator HIGPI112 is switched “ON”
and “OFF”. The status LED “ON” will lighten up or shut down.
(2) The second button from the right (2) has no function.
(3) The button in the middle (3) will open the menu “beam bearing” to adjust the beam bearing.
Note: If the HIGPI112 is distorted the displayed beam position will be colored amber.
(4) By pushing the second button from the left (4) the monitor “light settings” will open. Turning the
knob (6) will decrease or increase the intensity of the beam in the range of 0% to 100%. The actual
intensity value will be displayed in the right upper corner.
User Technical Manual – Glide Path Indicator type HIGPI Page 11
(5) The leftmost button (5) will open the screen “info”. There, the operating conditions of the glide path

3 INTERNAL COMPONENTS
4 INSTALLATION
4.1 MECHANICAL INSTALLATION
The HIGPI112 should be installed at the hover height of the helicopter, either directly on a horizontal flat
surface or with an additional fixture at the ship’s hangar wall. Observe the compliance with clearance
area for installation /service and the assured unobstructed area for the optical path, which is defined in
the enclosed integration drawing.
CAUTION:
The HIGPI112 should only be transported, moved or installed without the outer housing. It is
essential to demount the housing.
For easy installation/service of the HIGPI112 it could be necessary to work with two persons.
Do not touch or press the front pane during installation.
For mounting dimensions please see the enclosed integration drawings.
The housing of HIGPI112 is equipped with 3 gas pressure springs, which will slowly lift the housing for
about 300 mm after releasing the mounting screws. If the housing is mounted the pressure from the
3 gas pressure springs is approximately 60 N, so it is important to hold down the housing while the
screws are released carefully. The screws are secured against loss. All 4 screws can be turned with an
8mm-Allen-wrench.
4x mounting screws
For demounting of the housing release the mounting screws (Allen key 5 mm) of the gas pressure
springs. Use a 13 mm wrench on the flat surface (2) of the spring holder to fix it against rotation while
loosening the mounting screw (1) with a 5mm socket head wrench. The mounting screws (1) are secured
against loss.
The housing has to be lifted carefully and safely stored aside. Put the HIGPI112 into its final position and
fix it with the four mounting screws. The electrical installation should be performed at this time (chap.
4.3).
mounting holes
4x Ø12,5 mm
Position of mounting holes
Put the housing back in position and lock the three screws of the gas pressure springs. The right position
of the housing is given by three centring pins on the top of the HIGPI112 (1) and three centring seats (2)
inside the outer housing. Push the housing carefully down and tighten the four mounting screws
(chap. 4.1 A).
For wall installation first of all the fixture of HIGPI112 (Item no.: 1228-600-030) has to be installed at the
rear wall of the ship. This item is not a component part of the HIGPI112 and has to be ordered
separately.
The fixture of HIGPI112 has to be aligned in a right angle to the ship’s roll and pitch axis.
CAUTION: Please refer to our user technical manual for the Nitrogen Filling Set Type LRSB2.0.
To prevent corrosion of sensitive assemblies the HIGPI112 is filled with nitrogen as inert gas. Within the
scope of the regular maintenance intervals the necessary filling pressure of 0.3 bar (g) can be filled up by
the Nitrogen Filling Set Type LRSB2.0.
If the inside pressure is fading less than 0.05 bar (g) the HIGPI112 has to be flushed with nitrogen for an
effective displacement of existing air inside the housing.
For every filling procedure the housing of the HIGPI 112 has to be lifted (chap. 4.1 A) for at least 50 mm.
It is not necessary to take off the housing.
Clearance >50 mm
B. FILLING OF HIGPI112
The filling valve (1) is located under the housing on the top of the HIGPI112. Continue the filling of
nitrogen in compliance to the manual of the Nitrogen Filling Set Type LRSB2.0. For flushing the
HIGPI112 the vent valve (2) must be opened.
1 2
For accelerated test a loose digital manometer is included in the HIGPI nitrogen filling set.
To check the filling pressure before filling or flushing, the filling set must be connected to the filling valve
of the HIGPI112. The gas cylinder valve is to remain closed (the supply pressure gauge should read “0”).
After the filling valve has been opened, the filling pressure of the HIGPI112 can be read at the back
pressure gauge.
If the measured filling pressure of the HIGPI112 is between 0.05 and 0.3 bar (g) filling is necessary. In
that case please refer to the manual of the Nitrogen Filling Set Type LRSB2.0.
If the measured filling pressure is below 0.05 bar (g) the HIGPI 112 needs to be flushed. In that case
please refer to the manual of the Nitrogen Filling Set Type LRSB2.0.
WARNING !!!
In spite of the safety pressure relief valve do never fill
the HIGPI up to more than 0.3 bar (g)
Filling it to a higher pressure
may lead to mechanical failure of the enclosure.
The complete apparatus may burst
and injury may occur in the close vicinity.
Inner housing with filling valve (1) and vent valve (2) at the top plate
User Technical Manual – Glide Path Indicator type HIGPI Page 18
To do the electrical installation of the HIGPI112 the outer housing has to be lifted and the cover of the
terminal connections has to be removed. The mounting screws of the cover are secured against loss.
First, put a fitting shrink-on tube above the connection cable and remove as much of the external
insulation as required. Put the cable through the associated cable gland and ensure that the shield is
sure attached. Remove the insulation of the single wires of the connection cable and connect them with
the terminal according to the table in chapter 4.4.
Check the right connection of the terminals. Attach the cover again and make sure that the cable gland
is firmly applied. Then put on the fitting shrink-on tubes and shrink it with qualified tools, for example
with a heat gun.

User Technical Manual – Nitrogen Filling Set LRSB3.0 for HIGPI 112 Page 4
1 GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 APPLICATION AS DIRECTED
The Nitrogen Filling Set type LRSB3.0 for the HIGPI Glide Path Indicator is used for filling and/or
monitoring the filling of the unit with nitrogen gas. Any other use is not regarded as proper use.
The filling in the gas cylinder is compressed nitrogen gas (type of gas 226, nitrogen 5.6/6.0). This
compressed gas can have a suffocating effect when present in high concentrations.
The gas cylinder is under high pressure. Thus the cylinder should be secured against accidents when
stored. The gas cylinder should be stored in a well-ventilated place at a temperature less than 50° C.
The effects of fire can cause the container to burst and/or explode.
The nitrogen filling gas is not regarded as a dangerous substance in the meaning of the
Gefahrstoffverordnung (GeStoffV (German Ordinance on Hazardous Substances)).
The nitrogen filling set includes a spring loaded safety valve to govern the maximum filling pressure
of the HIGPI Glide Path Indicator.
Spring loaded safety valves should be installed with the bonnet vertically upwards, considering the
direction of flow. Safety valves must be installed so that the vented medium can not injure people or
damage properties. Safety valves should be installed in such a way that no inadmissible static,
dynamic or thermal loads can be transmitted to the valve, if this is the case then these factors must
be catered for in the installation. Between the safety valve and the pressure equipment no valve or
fitting should be installed. Should the relief valve outlet be fitted with a discharge pipe this must not
be less than the relief valve outlet diameter or be fitted with any other components that can restrict
the discharge flow. The relief valve outlet or discharge pipe must be located in a safe area. The
discharge pipes must not be installed where it will allow any of the venting medium to collect.

Ensure, the shut-off valve (4) is closed and open the transportable gas cylinder valve (7). If gas comes
out the blow-off valve (5) close the transportable gas cylinder valve (7) immediately. Apart from that
the supply pressure gauge (2) should show a pressure of 200 bar when the transportable gas cylinder
(1) is full.
The needed minimal pressure for refilling the HIGPI with gas is about 10 bar, for flushing and filling a
minimal pressure about 50 bar is needed. If the residual pressure is less than needed, the
transportable gas cylinder (1) has to be filled up with nitrogen appropriate specification at a local
dealer for technical gases.
Before the HIGPI is filled / flushed, make sure that the HIGPI has been switched off. If necessary the
housing of the HIGPI 112 can be removed to get easy access to the filling valve (A) and the vent valve
(B) at the top plate. For flushing the HIGPI the vent valve (B) must be opened.
For the purpose of filling / flushing, the filling plug (10) of the filling set has to be connected and
locked to the filling valve (A) located at the top side of the HIGPI.

For accelerated test a loose digital manometer is included in the HIGPI nitrogen filling set.
Connect the manometer with the filling valve (A) and press the ON button. The actual pressure will
be shown on the display. The filling pressure should be checked constantly every 3 months.
Depending on its construction the device may have low pressure decreases. It also can happen that a
lower filling pressure is shown at low outdoor temperatures. The device was developed so that it
works reliably despite these fluctuations of the filling pressure.
Do not expose the HIGPI to the outdoor environment when it has no nitrogen charge or a too low
filling pressure. If the HIGPI loses its nitrogen charge quickly after the filling process it is an indication
for a leak. Please contact LINKSrechts to get service in that case.
The filling pressure has to be checked again before filling or flushing, therefore the filling set has to
be connected to the filling valve (A) located at the top side of the HIGPI. The transportable gas
cylinder valve (7) has to remain closed and the supply pressure gauge (2) should read 0.0 bar.
After the shut-off valve (4) has been opened, the filling pressure of the HIGPI can be read at the back
pressure gauge (3).
If the measured filling pressure of the HIGPI is below 0.05 bar HIGPI needs to be flushed
(refer to section 5.3). A minimal pressure of 50 bar is needed at the supply pressure gauge (2).
If the measured filling pressure of the HIGPI is above 0.05 bar but below 0.3 bar filling is required
(refer to section 5.2). A minimal pressure of 10 bar is needed at the supply pressure gauge (2).

WARNING !!!
Spring-loaded safety valves should be installed with the bonnet vertically upwards, considering the
direction of flow.
To carry out the filling procedure, make sure the shut-off valve (4) of the filling unit is closed.
Open the transportable gas cylinder valve (7).
The supply pressure gauge (2) should then read the gas cylinder pressure.
The valve has a preset parameter of 0,3 bar thereby the pressure inside the HIGPI is never above 0,3
bar.
Connect and lock the filling plug (10) to the filling valve (A) located at the top side of the HIGPI (refer
to the picture in section 5).
Remove the coverage of the bleed valve (9) before filling the HIGPI.
Now open the shut-off valve (4) and the HIGPI gets filled with nitrogen.
Keep the filling set connected to the HIGPI for approx. 3 minutes with the shut-off valve (4) open.
A filling pressure of 0.3 bar indicated at the back pressure gauge (3) should be read now.
WARNING !!!
In spite of the safety pressure relief valve do never fill
the HIGPI up to more than 0.3 bar
Filling it to a higher pressure
may lead to mechanical failure of the enclosure.
The complete apparatus may burst
and injury may occur in the close vicinity.
Inner housing with filling valve (A) and vent valve (B) at the top plate
If the nitrogen filling pressure fell below 0.05 bar for whatever reasons, the HIGPI must be flushed
with nitrogen gas in order to produce a nitrogen only atmosphere throughout the entire HIGPI
housing.
To carry out the flushing procedure, make sure the shut-off valve (4) of the filling unit is closed.
Open the vent valve (B) at the top plate.
Connect and lock the filling plug (10) to the filling valve (A) located at the top side of the HIGPI (refer
to the picture in section 5).
Remove the coverage of the bleed valve (9) before flushing the HIGPI.

Open the transportable gas cylinder valve (7). The supply pressure gauge (2) should then read the gas
cylinder pressure. A pressure of 0.05 bar has to be set at the pressure reducing device (this can be
read at the back pressure gauge (3)).
Now open the shut-off valve (4) and the HIGPI gets flushed with nitrogen.
Keep the filling set connected to the HIGPI for approx. 5 minutes with nitrogen flowing through the
housing with the vent valve (B) open. You can notice a gentle fizz at the vent valve (B).
After the flushing has been done for about 5 minutes, the HIGPI should be filled subsequently.
The valve has a preset parameter of 0,3 bar thereby the pressure inside the HIGPI is not making any
damage.
Keep the filling set connected to the HIGPI for approx. 3 minutes for the filling procedure with the
shut-off valve (4) open! A filling pressure of 0.3 bar indicated at the back pressure gauge (3) should
be read now. After filling has been completed, the remaining nitrogen blows out the bleed valve (9)
when an excess pressure is reached. The transportable gas cylinder valve (7) and the shut-off valve
(4) have to be closed. The filling plug (10) can be removed. Put the protecting cover back on the
filling valve (A) again. Put on the coverage of the bleed valve (9) to prevent dirt getting inside the
bleed valve (9).

The pressure reducer coupling nut (6) at the cylinder connection is to be loosened using a wrench
and the pressure reducing device has to be removed.
Pressure reducing device with coupling nut (6) at the transportable gas cylinder connection
Check the gasket at the end of the valve. If the gasket is dirty or destroyed clean it with a clean and
dry rag or put in a new gasket. Never use deformed or dirty gaskets!
Align the pressure reducing device to the gas cylinder connection and screw on the coupling nut (6)
by hand. Now tighten the coupling nut (6) using the appropriate wrench. Never use a wrench
extension, as the thread and gasket could be destroyed.
This could lead to leaks and an uncontrolled loss of the gas filling!
7 REQUIRED TOOLS
- Open-jawed wrench 32 mm (for the coupling nut (6) of the cylinder connection)
8 MAINTENANCE
The components of the filling set are low on maintenance. With every use, the hoses, valves and
gaskets should be inspected for damage and/or contamination. Damaged or contaminated
components may not be used.
The filling pressure of the HIGPI must be checked every 3 months to ensure correct filling with
nitrogen.
Do not operate HIGPI without the correct nitrogen filling pressure for a prolonged time.
If HIGPI remains losing its nitrogen filling pressure, the leak must be found and sealed again.
If the filling pressure is above 0.05 but below 0.3 bar the HIGPI must be filled out according to
section 5.2
If the nitrogen filling pressure is less than 0.05 bar the HIGPI needs to be flushed according to section
5.3
