What roles have the telecommunication industry played in the development of Nigeria since

2001?

Imagine a dark continent, one in which messages that need to passed take ages before reaching
their recipients. Imagine how dull, how dreary, how slow that continent is progressing.
Imagine how large the world feels and how alone people think that they are. Now imagine that
there is a means to connect all these different people from far and near and the possibilities are
endless. We have socio- economic growth, a machinery to foster vital changes in all sectors
and dimensions of human lives plus a medium to change the way people interact with each
other and their environments at large. The telecommunications industry has provided jobs, it
has served as a medium to educate and a strong agent of change that somehow cuts across all
sectors. It has served as a catalyst and enabled Nigeria to make massive strides that would
otherwise have been rather impossible to make without it.
