Summary

In the present work we are addressing everything about Johannesburg, this is the capital of the
province of Gauteng, it is also the industrial capital of South Africa and the most populous city, the
richest in that country and the fourth largest economy in southern Africa. South Africans
colloquially call it Joburg, Jozi, or JHB. Likewise, it is considered the main economic and financial
center of the country.

Introduction

In the present work we will be addressing everything related to the city of Johannesburg, being
this the capital of the province of Gauteng, it is also the industrial capital of South Africa and the
most populous city, the richest in that country and the fourth largest economy in the world.
Southern Africa. Colloquially South Africans call it Joburg, Jozi, or JHB. Likewise, it is considered the
main economic and financial center of the country. We will also be learning about their customs
and typical dishes and everything related to business in this city.

this being one of the few large cities in the world that are neither on the coast, nor do they have
an important river or canal that communicates with the sea (just like Madrid or Berlin). The
modifications made to the municipal borders, brought into effect in the year 2000, caused the
population to exceed 3 million (5.61 million in 2013).

The population of the metropolitan area (which includes the other municipalities of the Gauteng
except Pretoria) is currently estimated at about 9 million inhabitants. That would place it as the
fourth most populous city in Africa.

Johannesburg is the capital of the Gauteng province and is located in northeastern South Africa.
