Leisure in Argentina
GALERIA PACIFICO SHOPPING MALL

In the style of the Bon Marché in Paris, at the end of the 19th century, Francisco Seeber and
Emilio Bunge created the Bon Marché Argentino. A place that would offer the latest
expressions of world fashion. Thus an imposing architectural work was born, with crossed
streets, glass vaults and a spacious and elegant central dome.

In 1946, five great muralist painters painted their works on the 450m2 surface of the central
dome of Galerías Pacífico. The artists Berni, Castagnino, Colmeiro, Spilimbergo and
Urruchúa agreed to create a decoration that would achieve an iconographic construction of
the primary values and socio-cultural practices common in different cultures, such as family
and contact with nature.

GALERÍAS GÜEMES SHOPPING MALL

Like other Galleries from the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th, the
Güemes Gallery was conceived in the style of large European spaces, which were
places of meeting, recreation and where, in addition to shopping, social events took
place; were the predecessors of the current shoppings.

The promoters of the work were the Salteños Emilio San Miguel and David Ovejero, owners
of great fortune and owners of the house of 1830 that was in the land in Florida. At first it
was thought to carry out the work only on this street, but then the Supervielle Bank, owner of
the lot that looked at San Martin, joined the project. We opted for a building-passage that
would connect both streets by means of a Gallery of 116 meters.

SHOPPING PATIO BULLRICH

Since 1867, not only wealth but also the Argentine cultural refinement went past the Bullrich
house. This historical building of the Bullriches, designed by the English architect Waldorp,
was a traditional auction house of any kind of collectibles, livestock and even stallions. In
1988, a modern mall was opened, though preserving the source, the original values of the
novel building, and its neoclassical architecture. In 1995, a major innovation and extension
project was carried out by Pfeifer & Zurdo Arquitectos, in which the historical structure was
maintained and modern new lines were added. In this way, they created a unique place
where two eras coexist.

is located in "Caminito", in the picturesque neighborhood of La Boca, within a historic

Conventillo dating from 1867, which was home to many immigrants who came to the country
in search of a better life. Inside these walls you can breathe part of the history of tango. In
1923, there was a warehouse that belonged to Juan de Dios Filiberto, who was the creator
of the famous tango "Caminito", which gave its name to this part of the city of Buenos Aires.

The passion for football is not casual. Argentina was surely the most advanced disciple the
English had in the world. First, from the schools, and then from all corners of the country
began to emerge young people who like to play with the ball. That’s how players began to
appear, to found clubs and to add titles.

Argentina has several of the most famous and best football players in history. Football
players like Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona, Alfredo Di Stefano, Juan Roman Riquelme,
Mario Alberto Kempes, and more are some examples.
