AN EXECUTIVE ORGANIZING THE BARANGAY PEACE AND


ORDER COMMITTEE (BPOC)

WHEREAS, Section 2 of Executive Order 366 (Creation of


Barangay Peace and Order Committee); DILG MC 2002-02
(Strengthening the Barangay Peace and Order Committee); and POC MC
No. 2002-05 (Guidelines on the Operationalization of Barangay Peace
and Order) all mandate each LGU to organize the Barangay Peace and
Order Committee as the implementing arm of the City/Municipal Peace
and Order Committee at the Barangay.

WHEREAS, the Barangay Peace and Order Committee through


tanods, shall undertake periodic assessment of the prevailing peace and
order situation, including the monitoring and checking of nefarious
activities of criminal elements within the area;

WHEREAS, the Barangay Peace and Order Committee shall


regularly initiate, coordinate, and monitor the implementation of peace
and order projects in the locality;

WHEREAS, the creation of Executive Committee is to ensure


that there shall represent the committee and act in its behalf when it is
not in session;

WHEREAS, the Executive Committee and Secretariat for the


Barangay Peace and Order Committee be constituted as follows:

NOW, THEREFORE, I Mark Joseph C. Santos, Punong


Barangay of Barangay Elias Aldana, City/Municipality of Las
Pinas, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law do hereby organize
the Barangay Peace and Order Committee (BPOC) as follows:

Section 1. Composition. The Barangay Peace and Order

Section 2. Functions. The Barangay Peace and Order Committee


shall exercise the following functions:

1. Initiate, coordinate, and monitor the implementation of


peace and order programs and projects at the barangay
level;
2. Serve as an info-gathering mechanism pertaining to peace
and order;
3. Monitor and check the nefarious activities of criminal
elements;
4. Supervise barangay tanods in identifying barangay
constituents with strong deviant behavior for referral to
appropriate authorities;
5. Maintain continuing dialogue, close coordination and
rapport with the city or municipal POC, the city or
municipal management coordinating committee and the
law enforcement units operating in the barangay;
6. Formulate plans and recommend measures which will
improve or enhance peace and order and public safety in
its area of jurisdiction;
7. Supervise, coordinate, and monitor the operations of all
community-based anti-crime activities undertaken within
the barangay.
8. Undertake periodic assessment of the prevailing peace
and order situation in the barangay and submit a report
with appropriate recommendations to the city/municipal
POC; and
9. Perform such other functions which may be assigned by
higher POCs.

Section 3. Funding Support. Funding support for the Barangay


Peace and Order Committee shall be charged against the fund of the
Barangay Government subject to availability of funds and to the usual
accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

Let copies hereof be furnished to all concerned for information,


reference, and guidance.
