What is happiness?

One could think that we can go with a standard definition from the dictionary but when you ask
people it seems to be a rather complicated thing to define. It’s a feeling that is mainly linked to
positivity but everyone seems to define it differently, some people are happy when they buy clothes,
some are happy when they spend time with their loved ones, some are happy when they eat
chocolate, some are happy when they see a puppy, etc.. But all falls into the same feeling which is
the excitement felt in the situation.

For years Happiness has been the main subject that everybody talks about, researches about it to
the point where a whole day has been dedicated to it. One must’ve thought that through the great
depression people must’ve been less happy than now but in reality they were 18% less depressed
than today, you might be wondering why?

Well people seem to think that to be able to attain happiness through work one should be successful
which is a wrong thought process when actually people need to seek success by being happy. When
you’re happy you’re less stressed, more productive, more motivated and more determined which
makes success more attainable.

The more you surround yourself with positivity and have healthy relationships with others, the more
peace and happiness you achieve, so why not aim to spread that? When you’re happy your body
releases Serotonin and Dopamine (Also called happy hormone) that lessens your anxiety. Notice
when you’re with someone who laughs a lot you find yourself automatically smiling and sometimes
you start laughing too, that’s contagious, so basically all it takes is one happy person to spread the
feeling.
