The Nitrogen Cycle

Diapositiva 2:
1) Nitrogen is an element required for many
biologically important molecules.
2) the four substances that contain nitrogen
are Amino Acids, Proteins, DNA and
chlorophyll.
3) although 80% of the air is inert and very few
organism can make use of it **

Diapositiva 3:

Diapositiva 4:
1) Bacteria also break down urea in urine to
ammonium ions, this process is called
ammonification.

2) Ammonium ions change into nitrate ions, also they

gain their source of energy absorbing light or feeding
as a decomposer.
3) The nitrogen-fixing bacteria convert nitrogen gas
into compounds of nitrogen, when they die and
decomposed, the fixed nitrogen is available to
plants.

4) The denitrifying bacteria change nitrate ions to

nitrogen gas, also they live in water-logged soil:
suelo descarchado.

5) In lightning nitrogen and oxygen react together at

high temperaturas, forming nitrogen oxides.

6) When the rain washed out the nitrate ions,

unallowing plants absorbing them.
