Industrial revolution
The Industrial Revolution was a process of economic, social,
cultural, and technological change in the United Kingdom during
the 18th century. It was a historical period characterized by
industrialization, in which machines emerged that radically
changed working conditions.
Industrial revolution to socialism
By the end of the 19th century, after the work of Karl Marx
and Friedrich Engels, socialism had come to mean
opposition to capitalism and the defense of a post-capitalist
system based on some form of social ownership of the
means of production.
Socialism was linked to democracy, an attempt to radicalize democracy
on the basis of a project of social democracy that sought to articulate
political freedom with economic well-being, when socialism began to be
seen as something different, it was the national socialisms of the type
Fascist and Stalinist.
