“WORKING STUDENT’S LIVES”

Most students work part-time while in college, but there are a few
who work full-time despite a hectic academic schedule. In both cases, it is
critical for students to consider the advantages and disadvantages of
working while in college. Working in college is a critical decision that can
make life in college more difficult or easier than not working while studying.
Having extra money while in college may sound subtle, but it provides more
experience and better references.

Working while in college usually necessitates a trade-off between work and

academic achievement. Employers usually acknowledge that academic
achievement is the student's top priority, but students must accept this and
be flexible. When a student fails to prioritize one over the other, there is a
high likelihood that the student will not succeed in both academic
achievement and work. The ramifications of this are that students must
weigh all of the advantages and disadvantages of working while in college.
Extra money and experience are usually desirable; however, the demands
of work and school, combined with high stress levels, have the potential to
drag an individual.

Lastly, work is becoming increasingly common among college students.

Working in college may not always be harmful, and can even be beneficial
when time is limited, as in the case of part-time and on-campus jobs. Any
college student thinking about working should consider the effects of the
job on academic work, the effects of school work on the job, and whether
the student is capable of handling the ups and downs of balancing work
and academics.
