Re: PERMISSION TO CONDUCT ACTUAL WORK IMMERSION PROGRAM FOR GRADE 12 STUDENTS

Dear Madam Frio,

Greetings!

As part of the K-12 Curriculum, stated in DepEd Order No. 30 Series 2017, Grade 12 students are to
undergo a minimum of 80 hours Work Immersion Program in order for them to be more equipped and
be prepared in their chosen track and to develop in them the competencies, work ethics, and values
relevant to pursuing further education and/or joining the world of work. This needs to be done before
they graduate from the basic education program of the Department of Education in our country,
especially for the Technical-Vocational and Livelihood (TVL) students.

The Technical-Vocational and Livelihood (TVL) Grade 12 students of the Luzonian Center of Excellence
for Science and Technology (LCEST) Inc., with the strand in Mechatronics Servicing NC II, used to have
their immersion in our affiliate companies within the CALABARZON area during the pre-pandemic times.
Students were then sent to these company sites and plants where they were exposed to actual
production processes of the aforementioned companies where they see and experience, firsthand, how
mechatronics is used.

However, with the existence of the pandemic and with the restrictions that we need to adhere to in
order to prevent the spread of the virus, we are no longer able to do so. Yet the need for our learners to
undergo the immersion is still in effect especially with the TVL students. Hence, compelling us to device
other plans of it to be carried out.

In connection with this, I am writing to your office for your support by granting us permission to conduct
an actual WORK IMMERSION PROGRAM in our school mechatronics laboratory.

In order for us to maintain the social distancing, we will stick to the fifty percent of the capacity of our
laboratory. The students are divided into ten individuals per group that will have their actual hands-on

sessions at our laboratory. Each group will only be at the laboratory for six days, and only one group
(ten individuals) per session.

We assure your good office that the minimum health protocols are observed as to prevent all concerned
individuals from being infected by CoVid 19. Our laboratory has already been set in such a way that it
meets the requirements with regards to the prevention of the spread of CoVid 19.

Attached herewith are the following:

- The consent signed by the parents/guardians of the learners

- Photographs of our laboratory set-up
- The health protocols to be observed
- Certification / Approval from the Municipal Mayor’s Office
- Certification from the local IATF / MDRRMO

The said sessions will start as soon as we receive the approval from your office and will run until the
second week of June.

We are hoping to hear a positive response from you regarding this request.

Very respectfully yours,

ARNEL S. GALLO
