NARRATIVE REPORT

INTRAMURALS 2023
Last Friday (February 17, 2023) LPCNSHS - Manuyo Campus prepared for the first day of
Intramurals 2023. They gathered four (4) different group and they were given a designated color
which is yellow for the four (4) sections of General Academic Strand (GAS), red for the mixed
sections of the Humanities and Social Sciences Strand together with the Technical Vocational
Livelihood Strand, then blue for the four (4) sections of Humanities and Social Sciences Strand, and
last but not the least, green for the another four (4) sections of Technical-Vocational Livelihood
Strand. Every group went to the court and presented the yell that they prepared. Ms. Jonah Lei
Mariano and Mr. Elmer Medina are the emcees of the program, they gave energy for all teachers and
student during the opening program of Intramurals. Also, Mr. Joemar Furigay, our dear principal pays
a tribute by giving speech for all teachers and students who were there during the program. He also
reminded us about the three (3) most important things we must be able to possess before the start of
the games, which is camaraderie, sportsmanship, and teamwork. We also witness how the players,
especially Jed Fontanilla who reached the NCR as a qualifier in the category of Basketball to light the
torch to signify the start of the event. Also, Mr. Mark Joseph Lontok start the game by doing a
traditional jump ball together with the captains of every basketball teams. The faculty and staff also
took the chance to take a photo opportunity to be able to take a picture of that day. After the formal
opening of event, players are now set to play the Laro ng Lahi event who were played by not only
students, but also teachers. The first game of the program is Laro ng Lahi starting with the Sack race,
next is Maria Went To Town, followed by Kadang Bao, and lastly, Patintero. And by the afternoon, it
was followed by the sport games such as basketball, volleyball, badminton, and chess.

Second day of Intramurals 2023 (February 18, 2023). The day when all teams competed in the
finals of sporting events. Every team had the opportunity to compete in their respective categories
and gave it their all to earn the best awards of all, the trophies. The fact that they are unified despite
coming from various sections demonstrates the essential ideas that Mr. Joemar Furigay taught us at
the outset of the competition. You can tell they are focused on winning and exhibit no signs of
weakness; rather, they exhibit perseverance. Not only do the students put forth a significant amount
of effort, but the educators who served as officials—Mr. Mandie Estrada for volleyball, Mr. Ed Francis
Narvaez for badminton, Mr. Mark Joseph Lontok for basketball, and Mr. Leoncion Sampayan and Ms.
Joan Baloloy for the chess tournament—also contributed a significant amount of their time and skills.
The third and last day of Intramurals 2023 (February 19, 2023). On the day of the pageant
competition, there were contenders for Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2023. As the Top 5 were announced,
they went in for a Question & Answer segment, in which they all did quite well. They were able to
demonstrate their confidence by standing up for their sections. They also presented themselves with
their production number, sportswear, and casual apparel. After that, they underwent evaluation by
our esteemed committee, during which they received prizes for first, second, third, and fourth place in
each category as well as the official Mr. & Ms. Intramurals 2023 award, which goes to Mr. Habana
and Ms. Paguntalan. Following that, Mr. Joemar Furigay declared the winners of the sport
competitions in each category and the official rankings of winners. The accomplishments made
during the three (3) days of the tournament made both students and teachers extremely proud. But
the PE Club members were also delighted of what they did to help make the event happen, thanks to
the assistance of our sports coordinators Mrs. Aica Marie S. Hernandez and Mr. Elmer Medina;
without them, the Intramurals 2023 would not have been as successful as it was.
