‘The poor will be the center of the gov’t - Robredo

Presidential aspirant and Vice President Leni Robredo assured the public that
she will centralize the government’s moves in uplifting poor communities if she will be
elected as the head of state in the upcoming May elections.

During the kick-off of her presidential campaign in Naga City, Robredo asserted
that she will establish a clean and honest government as she eyes to demolish the old
and corrupt politics that has suffered Filipinos for years.

“Magtatatag tayo ng gobyernong handang makinig sa hinaing. Sa ating

pagmamahal, ang laylayan ng lipunan ang magiging sentro ng ating pamahalaan,”
Robredo expressed.

According to the vice president, the time has come to replace the rotten oligarchy
in the country as she claimed that a government must prioritize the public’s shared
interests and should be models of accountability.

Leadership in a tsinelas

During the campaign, Robredo recalled a government in a ‘tsinelas’ which aims

to safeguard the public’s rights and recognize the cries of Filipinos as bases in
formulating laws and policies.

She said that as a president, her government will embody the principles of trust
and honesty to centralize the welfare of Filipinos in its leadership.

“Magtatagag tayo ng pamahalaang iaahon ka. Pagsusuotin natin ng tsinelas ang

gobyerno at patatawirin sa mga pilapil papunta sa’yo,” Robredo said.

‘Angat buhay lahat’

Meanwhile, Robredo further laid out her plans and platforms of governance
focusing on health, labor, education, and economy to address and fill certain gaps of the
current administration.

According to her, the first step remains as the move in electing accountable and
lawful leaders who will reflect good governance in creating policies for the public.

Moreover, she reiterated that she will run a responsive and people-centered
government as she has been consistently implementing the same system since 2016.

“Alam nating kayang maabot ito at kung paano maabot ito sapagkat ito ay
nakasalalay sa pagpili ng gobyernong tapat. Matagal na nating dala-dala ito,” the
candidate said.
