I'm tired of the hate. When a writer imitates another
writer, it's called copying but when a musician or
filmmaker imitates, it's called inspiration. Anyways
😒 I think people should take the time to see that
imitation is a learning tool and not a way to cheat
writing...

Heard the topic of imitation being on the heat rn.
Personally, I see nothing wrong with imitation. I
like to think of imitation as the skeleton of the
paper and not the flesh. When we study the
skeleton, it will help us gain confidence to
experiment more with structure skills and make
us better writers. 🤗 but then again I am no
anthropologist.

get called a nerd, hear me out. I stand by persona
paraphrase. In my classroom, we use controlled
composition to enable inexperienced writers but I
really like your approach to understand
parenthetical expression, modification, or
parallelism. Might have to take this advice. 😌

@theskilledwizard nerd. lol anyway, I've heard

about controlled composition, I like to categorize it
as a contextual imitation. Just like musicians, having
a reference helps speed up the process of learning.

can put imitation into: stylistic, intentional,
interventional, and social. All are valid and
shouldn't be dicredited by anyone who uses it.

teacher cap on. Imitation is way more than just
copying, it can help build an identity which I say is
the sense of self-attributed to you by yourself and
other participants in your social situation. To
imitate well, you must be influenced by people
you look up to.

writing is harder than people may believe. Saying
