48, Jalan Sekolah,

41060 Banting,
Selangor Darul Ehsan,

27 January 2010.

Dear Jude,
How are you? It has been a long time since I last wrote to you. I have been pretty
busy. I just wonder whether school life for you in Australia is as hectic as ours in
Malaysia. Well, I've just finished my exams and I thought I would write to you about
what is happening in my part of the world.
The latest sensation in my town is a shopping mall which opened last week. Called
Fantastic Parade, rather fancifully, it is very big. In fact, it is also the largest shopping
mall in my district. Its opening attracted scores of people because there are many
shops selling anything from designer items to home-made products. You can also find
bookstores, florists and pharmacies. You name it and they have it all!
Another attraction in the mall is a food court where hungry shoppers can find a
variety of food to suit their taste. Western food, Easten cuisine and local hawker fare
are available in the food court and the prices are reasonable.
Another thing that is attracting throngs of people is the exhibition of tourist spots
Malaysia held on the ground floor in the centre court of the shopping mall. As you
know Jude, the Malaysian government is trying hard to promote local tourism and this
exhibition is attracting not only foreign tourists but also local people. The exhibition is
open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Information about my country is available in
posters and brochures which are given away free of charge.
Well Jade, one day you must come over to my country and I can assure you that
first place I'll take you to, is the mall.
I guess that's all for the moment. Do write back when you have the time.

Yours sincerely,
JASMINE
