The prayer calls on Buddha for peace in the world. It notes the discord between nations, peoples, races and religions that stems from greed, hatred, attachments and discrimination. These causes turmoil, chaos, fear and lack of peace. It asks Buddha to bless all beings with harmony, close the distance between self and others through wisdom and compassion, and illuminate the darkness with Buddha's light. The prayer ends by asking Buddha to accept this sincere prayer for peace in the world.
