WELCOMING EVERYONE BACK TODAY, THE DELEGATE OF JAPAN
WOULD LIKE TO STATE THAT;
 This rapid technological change is affecting almost every area of the
economy, society and culture.
 In order to achieve the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
included in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted at the
2015 General Assembly of the United Nations, Science, Technology and
Innovation (STI) as well as social and economic reform, is essential.
 More than five years have passed since the 2030 Agenda was unanimously
adopted at the United Nations General Assembly in the fall of 2015.
Science, technology and innovation (STI) are expected to play important
roles in the quest towards SDGs.
 The Principles set out Japan's vision: “Become a leader toward a future
where economic, social and environmental improvements are attained in
an integrated, sustainable and resilient manner while leaving no one
behind.”

 Meanwhile, technology has brought about economic growth and improved
access to info, it has also created new problems, such as income injustice,
ecological degradation and social segregation.
 It is important for japan to address these encounters by developing policies
that stimulate sustainable technological development and by ensuring that
the benefits of technology are distributed impartially.
 Japan supports such businesses, nurturing a resilient spirit. Continuous
efforts fuel the cycle of technological development, and solutions are
applied to every corner of society, foster the well-being of all.
 With the power of innovation, we overcome challenges and contribute to
the betterment of human lives.
 With an aim of promoting business collaboration, Japan introduces
companies producing leading-edge Japanese technologies that achieve
“one-of-a-kind” status or become giants in global position markets, through
interviews with the modernizers who toughen our economy by making it so
resistant.
 In terms of its development strategy, Japan lay emphasis on poverty
reduction through economic growth, human resources development.
