SCIENCE REPORT
based on the documentary
"Do we really need the moon?"

Introduction

When we look at the sky, we already see the moon as an essential presence. But

what if it was in another place where it is now? How would life on earth be

affected?

Question/Problem

Hypotheses

1) What if the moon were closer?

Do we really need the moon? 2)What if the moon were further away?

3)What if there was no moon?

Checking the hypotheses

1) What if the moon were closer?
2)What if the moon were further away?
3)What if there was no moon?

1)
Low tides would be lower and high tides would be higher due to the growness of the

tidal bulge;

Cities like New York and London would go submerged because a mighty tidal bulge

would be formed and cause a huge flooding;

The sun would be completely obscure by the eclipses;

Days would be shorter;

The gravity would've pulled the debris, crashing back to earth, and there would be no

moon;

2)
The moons' disc would be too small to cover the sun so, eclipses wouldn't exist;

Days would be longer;

Our days and nights would change, because the rotation of the Earth becoming slower

3)

The moon stabilises the Earth to tilt and forms seasons so, without it, we wouldn't have

seasons;

Earth would lose stability and start woobling very crazy, therefore the stability of the

planet would be threatened;

Tides wouldn't exist;

Temperatures would be extreme

World would lost its balance;

Humans survival depends on the frozen water on the moon;

NO MOON, NO LIFE
Conclusion

In conclusion, the moon is one of the most important things so there could be life on Earth

and it is changing over the years but not enough to affect our life system. There are a lot

of consequences that may happen if it moves closer or further to the Earth so it really

should stay where it is today or we will all die.
