On the other hand, we have other way to use possessives in English. It is called the
Saxon genitive. You just put ‘s after possessors.

-My son’s cell is dead----------- The cell phone belongs to my son, and it needs to be
charged.
-His father’s company is broken—The company that owns his father is in bankruptcy.
-My sister’s boyfriend is tall------- Her boyfriend is taller than me.

Look what happens when you us plurals or words which end with s

-My brothers’ shoes are stained. - When you use plurals with Saxon genitive, you must
only put the apostrophe (´) at the end.
-James’ friends stole his mother’s jewelry box. – James like Charles are names which
final sound is s happens the same like plurals.
