Introduction
The goal of the experiment is to locate and become familiar with the rheostat. building a Wheatstone bridge
with a rheostat. locating an unknown resistor and verifying the Wheatstone bridge. determining the wire
resistor's resistivity. How to recognize a galvanometer.
Objectives
In this experiment we aim to learn how to use Rheostat to build a voltage divider and Wheatstone
bridge.
At the beginning we connected the circuit as it given in the book (Fig 6-2), and then we stared
measuring the voltages and resistance in different places using DMM to determine the unknown resistor.

Questions:
Q1)
Q2) When the galvanometer pointer is at zero that means that there is no current passing through the
galvanometer.

The resistance value that will be
used in the Rheostat is 1600 Ω

IRheostat=2.06mA
PRheostat=6.57x10-3W
Sources of Errors:
• Strange mistake (Reading the value for the voltage and current due to the fluctuation of values on the DMM).
• It's possible that we made some errors or difficulties when connecting the circuit on the bread-board.
• Incorrectly connect the DMM to the circuit.
• An inaccurate galvanometer reading.
