Program Description

Youth Development through Commercial Fish Farming is an Nchelenge Chandwe Youth

Group initiative that provides poverty free by empowering Youths, Women and Vulnerable
children in our Societies through Education, Technology, Health Care, Agriculture, Aquaculture,
Agribusiness, Sports, Creative Industry and Housing. Besides our Organization formed by
vulnerable students with the aim of helping vulnerable people in various communities across the
country.

Chandwe Youth Group for Zambian Youth Development was previously formed in 2012 and
registered legally in 2019 under Nchelenge Municipal Council and operate traditional aspects by
respecting our royal highnesses in the community.
The project is ready to start in such that our Royal Highness Chief Mutampuka gave us 20hectors
piece of land located in Luapula Province, Nchelenge District in Northern part of Zambia along
Lake Mweru, Mwatishi River 1000km away from capital city of the country.

Mansa is the headquarter of Luapula Province and Nchelenge Fish Farming project for Youth
and women empowerment is based in Nchelenge township 300km away from Mansa town
center. This is the most densely area in the district, unfortunately most of people in the area have
no formal employments and depends heavily on farming, fishing and selling of different
agricultural commodities for their survival.

The project in Nchelenge Township wants to empower youths, vulnerable and women
physically, mentally, academically etc. That is to embark them in self-sufficient unlike what is
obtaining on the ground now most of vulnerable and youths are reduced to street beggars which
has in turn stigmatized them by their respective society while they have left schools due to
challenges they are passing through. Vulnerable people have lacked a lot of things like protected
shelters, good toilets and financial support to their education.

In order to emancipate from the discrimination of mantel slavery, Chandwe youth group
particularly in Nchelenge area decided to get together, hence the formation of this very project
and it is the organization’s desire to supplement government effects and mitigation to the
suffering for vulnerable.

The group is currently conducting peer education, training people in ICT and maintaining
community roads to the program.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Youths, women and vulnerable people are facing challenges to earn a living through employment
because there discriminate against even though this can be disputed but the number of youths
employed in competitive job position is negligent say 5%.

Nongovernmental organizations, too have joined the international organizations in fighting for
equal rights for under privileged vulnerable and the sure way to help youth groups is to assist by
funding project aimed in empowering youths, vulnerable and women through income generating
activities to enable them create employment among themselves . This project plan to address the
employment issues of youths, enable them to have protected shelters, Education, Technology,
Health Care, Agriculture, Aquaculture, Sports, Creative Industry and Housing.
