Main Competitors:

Nestle, as a well-known global company with many well-known brands, has good potential for
developing an everlasting market in the 186 countries; however, it also has many strong
competitors on the market. In 2021 Nestle “net sales amount to over 93 billion U.S. dollars, with
a 44.9 percent regional share of worldwide sales, most of the revenue stems from the Americas,
followed by Europe, the Middle East, and Africa”1. Based on the graph from 2021 Statista we
concluded that the five main competitors of Nestle are:

1) Procter & Gamble (P&G)2 Procter & Gamble is a multinational consumer goods
corporation headquartered in the United States that operates in over 80 countries. Its
nearly 300 brands are available in over 160 countries. It is well-established in North
America, Europe, and Asia, including emerging markets such as China and India. Procter
& Gamble current revenue is 80,2 billion US dollars. Procter & Gamble have a strong and
focus product portfolio” positioned to win with consumers, made up of daily-use
products where performance plays a significant role in brand choice”3. Moreover, Fabric
Care, Home Care, Baby Care, Feminine Care, Family Care, Hair Care, Skin & Personal
Care, Oral Care, Personal Health Care, and Grooming are among the ten product
categories offered by Procter & Gamble. These are financially appealing categories that

capitalize on P&G's strengths, and in which create a significant market position, and the
companys' growth and value creation potential.
2) PepsiCo PepsiCo is a leading multinational food and beverage corporation. It is one of
the world's largest companies in terms of market value, as well as one of the world's
leading soft drink brands. “PepsiCo’s total net revenue numbers worldwide amounted to
approximately 79.47 billion U.S. dollars in 2021”4 PepsiCo products are enjoyed by
consumers in over 200 countries and territories worldwide. PepsiCo's product portfolio
encompasses an extensive range of food and beverage items such as soft drinks, snacks,
juices, and sports drinks. Pepsi, Frito-Lay, Gatorade, and Tropicana are some of PepsiCo's
well-known brands. Additionally,” Pepsico Beverages North America that generates the
most revenue, despite food divisions creating more in total.”5
3) Unilever6 Unilever in 2021 has had a revenue of 52,4 billion US dollars. In the food and
beverage industry, both companies have a diverse product portfolio that includes dairy
products, confectionery, bottled water, and more. Unilever, on the other hand, has a
strong presence in the personal care and home care industries through brands such as
Dove, Axe, and Persil, whereas Nestle focuses on food and beverages. Unilever company
operates in 190 countries worldwide. Additionally, the company's competitive advantage
stems from its global footprint and track record of increasing value for consumers
worldwide. The company's products are divided into three categories: beauty and
personal care, food and beverages, and home care.
4) JBS “JBS is one of the leading companies in beef, lamb and poultry processing and
also operates in pork production”7 and the company’s revenue in 2021 was 79.7 billion
Us dollars. JBS has over 400 production units and offices on five continents - the
Americas, Asia, Europe, Africa, and Oceania - serving over 275,000 customers in more
than 190 countries worldwide, with locations in 15 countries across a global production
and distribution platform. The company has a strong diverse product portfolio, with
products that include both fresh and frozen meats to prepared meals, commercialized
by well-known Brazilian and international brands such as Friboi, Swift, Seara, Pilgrim's
Pride, Swift Prepared Foods, Plumrose, Primo, and others.
5) AB-InBev Is another well-known competitor for Nestle. Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB
InBev) is a Belgian-Brazilian brewery that was formed in 2008 by the combination of two
businesses, Anheuser-Busch and InBev, making it the world's largest brewer. The
company’s revenue in 2021 was 54,3 billion US dollars. The company specializes in beer
brewing and has over 200 different trademarks in its product portfolio, which includes
global, international, and local beer brands. Budweiser, Corona, and Stella Artois are
some of their iconic brands that are enjoyed worldwide.
