About the Institute
Government Polytechnic, Nagpur, established in 1914,
has rendered yeoman services to further the cause of
Technical Education in the country. The Institute has
recently celebrated its Centenary year. Government
Polytechnic, Nagpur has history of 108 Glorious Years.
The institute is committed to contribute through
excellence in technical education, to provide technical
valuable manpower resource to industry and society.
The institute is always upright in responding to
educational needs of changing world. This institute
being a part of Polytechnic Education System (PES) has
been catering to the needs of community, society and
industry. From academic session 1995 the institute was
granted Autonomous Status by Government of
Maharashtra. The institute is offering 14 diplomas in
engineering programs and 9 (100% of eligible) diploma
program of the institute are accredited by National Board
of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi.

About Automobile Engineering Department
The Department of Automobile Engineering was
established in 2007 with a sanctioned intake of 60
approved by the AICTE, DTE and MSBTE, Mumbai.
Earlier Post Graduate Diploma in Automobile Engineering
was offered by the department since 1965. The
depar tment is having dedicated well equipped
laboratories and Center of Excellence established by
leading automobile manufacturing company in India.
The program is accredited by NBA, New Delhi.

To lead in Imparting Quality Education in Automobile
Engineering.
Mission of the Department
M1: To develop industry ready students and also
maintain the scope for vertical mobility.
M2: To inculcate innovative and problem solving
approach towards the work.
M3: To develop globally acceptable students who can
implement modern automotive technology.
M4: To develop lifelong learning ability with ethical,
societal and environmental protection.
Objective of Training:
National Board of accreditation (NBA) focusing on the adoption
of outcome based education (OBE) approach for all engineering
program in India from 2013. Accreditation is required for quality
assurance, recognition by stake holders, branding, and
recognition of graduates globally and for international mobility
of graduates.
The main objectives of this program is to get acquainted with
the OBE philosophy, to provide practical input related to CO, PO
attainment methodology, provide input for filling self
assessment Report (SAR) for NBA process and provide input
related to facing NBA accreditation.
Course Outcome
At the end of this course the participants will able to-
1. Ientify need and importance of Outcome Based
Education
2. Identify the various components of Outcome Based
Curriculum (OBC)
3. Use various Outcome Based Learning Teaching
(OBLT) Processes
4. Perform Outcome Based Assessment (OBA)
5. Perform assignments on OBC, OBLT and OBA.
Target Participants
Participants from non-accredited programmes of the
institute are eligible and from MSBTE approved
Polytechnics in Nagpur region. (Nagpur , Wardha,
Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli District).
