Abstract - Great Depression Vs Great Recession Made by Beatriz Correia-1
Abstract - Great Depression Vs Great Recession Made by Beatriz Correia-1
The research project I have considered to develop on comparing and showcasing the social-economic
differences / similarities of two distinct time periods: The Great Depression (1929–1941) vs The Great
Recession (2007-2009).
Comparing the two time periods of major economic damages of US History, my main idea to
elaborate my project is by contrasting the impacts of devastation upon the population, subdividing
and focusing on the 3 major points of social-economic status: Income, Education and Occupation.
For my primary resources to analyze this case studies, I recured towards the suggested text of Lepore’s
“These Truths: A History of the United States”, an interview of a woman that lived through The Great
Depression, and the following academic texts: “Evaluating the Effects of the Great Recession” By
Sheldon Danzi and the article “Bad news in the Great Depression, the Great Recession, and other U.S.
recessions: A comparative study” by Jean-Paul L’Huillier and Donghoon Yoo.
